Ok, I'm not computer illiterate, but never done the MP3 thing before and
I had everything loaded and songs downloading - and the ZAPP program to
upload it to the mp3 was getting updates and the darn connection went
down and now the ZAPP program won't work. I click it and it pops up for
a second and dissappears. I put the disk back in and choose repair -
same problem. Uninstalled the software and re-installed it and it's
doing the same thing - any suggestions before I kill it?

I'm sorry, but I am not too familiar with ZAPP. I do however know a
bit about MP3s. Are you downloading the MP3s off of the net, or are you
coping them off of a disk? Was it your internet connection that went
down, or just the programs connection to the net(for the download)? ONE
possible solution to your problem if all else fails, assumeing, I guess,
that it might be the program in question, that if you have a version of
windows that supports it, then you might be able to do a system restore
back to the point before you installed the program. I hope this might
help you.

Well it maybe different then mine. But with mine all I have to do is
open the MP3 player file and then drag and drop. A screen should come up
when you plug your MP3 player in. Then from there selected the file
option then a screen will open up. Leave that open then open the file
that has your music in it. Then drag it over and drop it. If that first
screen does not come up go to "My Computer" and select it under
removable devises. And just do the same thing. For the most part you do
not need the driver. This is how I do mine. And I am giving these
instructions assuming that you are running XP. Hope it helps. If you
have anymore trouble feel free to send me a message.

I had downloaded the software that came w/ the mp3 player that takes
your downloads and makes them work on the mp3 player - that is the ZAPP
program. I paid for the music downloads and was downloading the songs
and I had launched the ZAPP program. It immediately connected to
Windows and began updates. Both software update downloads and music
downloads were taking place when I lost my internet connection (for a
long time). Both programs tried to continue for a bit and then just
stopped. I got the music downloads (to the computer) taken care of.
But it's the mp3 player software that won't work now. I launch it pops
a window and disappears. I uninstalled and reinstalled and still having
same issue. I'm trying again now.

Well if it don't work, and you have win XP then the system restore
thing might work for you.

I tried run as and it gave the window saying that there was a problem
and it had to close. I just moved this window to see it again and it
was partially there (like one corner showing) - when I clicked it it was
the old window saying it timed out and to close it. I closed it and
tried again and guess what - it's working now (or appears to be). Guess
that hidden window is what was causing the problem. I sure hope it
works this time or I'm gonna have a very upset pre-teen in the morning
cause the songs aren't on the mp3 player. Thanks for your help.

This may sound like stupid questions but and I might even spell
something incorrectly so someone lurking around here can have something
to say about it. Anyhow are you first downloading the entire song or are
you trying to download and burn it to cd at the same time? If you
download the songs completely then burn them to disk separately you
would not have to worry about your internet connection dropping.

I also have never heard of Zapp however I have found that MusicMatch
Jukebox will offer you the abuility to save a wav file as an MP3 file as
well as burn cds if you wanted to. That is a feature that can come in
quite handy.

I finally got it to work. The problem is that the software wouldn't
launch after it died the first time. Thanks for everyone's suggestions
and help.

music match is good but alot of after market burners require you use
their software that they supply I have music match, as far as your
problem with Zapp I'd say the window was your problem. Sometimes you
have a prob like you were having you can hit ctrl, alt, delete and open
the task manager and close any programs or processes that refer to the
Zapp program, and then try starting over from scratch.
