I have three year old twins, my daughter is almost potty trained, only having an accident if she's very busy doing something else and still wears pull-ups at night but is at least trying....my son on the other hand has no desire what so ever to even try......any tips?

I have a son, and he was the worst at potty training. Might miss something if he had to take time out. Just keep after him and take him every 30 minutes to an hour. Time consuming, but it works. Good luckflowerforyou

boys are hardier to train
my experience is (my kids are much older now-teens) just keep up the routine and such, they do it when they are ready.

try putting fruit loops in the toilet and getting him to play 'hit the target'

the fun of it might encourage him to at least try.

I never used a potty chair.I'm not cleaning that gross. You can buy a cover for the toilet that makes it easier for the child.I would repeatly put the child on the toilet every 30 minutes. When the child goes I would act so happy.clap gives hugs.If i had to I'd resort to giving some kind of reward whatever it takes.good luck

I'm in potty training hell too. My oldest son (almost 4) refuses to use the potty. The little one (not quite 3) loves using the potty. One day.....I hope one day.....they will BOTH use it. laugh

My youngest is 12 now but I have 4 kids. 2 girls and 2 boys. I know most people say that boys are harder but my experience was opposite.

My boys were easier for some reason. I had my oldest potty trained in 2 weeks with just the standard big boys go in the potty. I ended up pregnant with his sister right before he turned 2 and was determined that I would not have 2 kids in diapers. My oldest daughter however was potty trained in about a year. She peed in the pot but would not poop in it. she would literally get off the pot and squat and poop her pants. Til one day I was just totally fed up and had tried everything. She got off the pot and squatted, started grunting and I just looked at her and said, "if you do it I refuse to clean it up." She never pooped her pants again. My second daughter, I must confess the babysitter potty trained her. She ran in from the yard one day, ran down the hall and into the bathroom. I followed, confused by her actions. She was pulling down her pants repeating pee pee pee pee pee. I just laughed and thanked my babysitter tremendously.

Then there is my youngest. He was 3 when he himself finally decided he was done with diapers. We had gone through him wanting to be a big boy and after a day or 2 he would bring me a diaper and ask me to put it on him. I asked him why and he would say he not want to be big boy. LOL Then one day he brought me big boy pants and threw his diapers away himself. Go figure.
