I'm new to mingle2, but I can definitely relate to what Lily is saying..Not to say that all guys are like that, but I can say from 3 failed relationships, in which I was the only one putting anything into them, only to have them fail, it gets very frustrating. You tend to lose all trust in the opposite sex, and then the stereotyping begins. I can say this is the same for guys who stereotype all women. After someone has tried several times to make something work, only to have it fall apart, it gives you no faith that there is actually a nice guy out there...and for the guys a nice girl. to date anymore... ZERO zilch...nada. Between the cheesy pick up lines here and IRL, and the liars, and the guys who call too much, or the ones who don't call enough, and the ones who say "I'm so interested in you" and yet will flirt with anything with a vagina, the dumb ones, the ones who think they are smart, the ones who want to make you feel dumb because for whatever reason it makes them feel smarter, the ones who come on too strong, the ones who don't come on at all.... I just don't care anymore.... The only one I want is 400 miles away and there is no chance for that one... besides him, there is nothing I find appealing about the oposite sex besides....well, sex. I'm venting..... I'm allowed right? * does the math checking the mileage from here to Ohio....nope....wasn't me... * DAMMIT!!! |

I have gotten to the point where thinking that there might be someone " right " for me out there seems like an exercise in futility. |

I'm venting..... I'm allowed right? Good things happen with time...some idiot said that when he was probably drunk and lonely without a good paying job. Statistically if going according to high school graduate, opposite sex, and the countries you would visit (Canada, US, UK) you have a 27-33 percent chance of finding true love...now that all works out fine a dandy on paper but does not necessarily make it a true equation, mainly because the number of variables that can enter the original equation are ever-changing therefore it is really difficult to give it a percentage basis. I know you're not generalizing as I know you well enough to say that...just don't discount everything on the basis of a stupid math equation...take care sweets.

Lily I think its okay to take breaks also. I know sometimes I feel VERY much like yourself but then I just take some time off and try to reassess the situation. I normally discover when I come back to the "dating scene" I feel refreshed and kind of recharged. Its actually possible to have a good time with most anyone you go out with (unless they are violent or scary in some fashion) but generally even when you know it wont work in a romantic sense, you can still have fun for the time you spend with them on that particular date.
