I'd start with the District Attorneys office...or something of that nature. Or Google it!!

wait nvm we think we figured it out

see my dad got a walmart credit card and he figured it'd be great for me to get gas on because i work for my mom and part of my pay is free gas. so he put me on his walmart account with my name on the card.

well walmart has been crediting my credit report every month when he pays it off.

so we thought someone else had a credit card in my name. thank god close call.

here's what you do in the event of ACTUAL credit fraud-

first off-

- file a police report at your local police station. that way, you have a record of your going to the authorities. be sure to give them copies of your credit reports showing the fraudulent name, SSN, and purchase info.

once that's done-

contact your three credit bureaus (experian, trans-union, and equifax) and file an extended credit alert. this will put a blip on your credit file that will tell whoever is looking into your history (stores, services, etc.) that some funny business is goin' on with your file.

the extended credit alert is good for seven years and will stop credit card offers from being sent to you, among other things. it WILL mean that you'll have a more difficult time trying to get legit credit-based things taken care of, but you'll have supporting documentation (your police/credit reports, etc.), so you should eventually be able to come away all right.
