House rejects financial bailout bill
The U.S. House today rejected an historic $700 billion bailout of Wall Street despite legislative leaders’ appeals to rank-and-file members that the bill was needed to save the U.S. economy from possible catastrophe.

The Dow immediately plunged as investors watched the dramatic House vote on television, but recovered a bit after the stunning developments.

After more than three hours of debate, the legislation was rejected by a 228-205 final vote.

McCain must suspend his campaign immediately to address this crisis. It's more dire than it was last week, so it only makes sense.

Businesses that have to answer to wall street have to have business plans, projections for upcoming quarters and the year, they have to give very detailed reports at the end of every quarter...you know, they have to tell everyone/shareholders about the business...

IF they do not perform as promised, they are in trouble with the stockholders...

Having a semi-transparent plan...projections of business goals...

I wonder what would happen if government had to perform to the level which they said...

haha if we held the govt to the standards we hold Wall Street most of them would get indicted
