I didn't find a way to search previous threads so I hope this question hasn't been repeated too often.

While on the Mutual Match function, I recieved a new match. When I selected her profile, it said that she was deactivated. The entire process took within 5 minutes. Is this just a glitch?

Sometimes people make profiles on sites like this just so they can get information about the members, or about a particular member--or because they are losers who can't think of a better way to have fun. Don't take it too seriously.

You might try going back later and see if the account is still deactivated--it's always possible that she made a mistake.

I hope this helps. yours in Chaos, Scarlett

No idea, seems to happen alot in my experience. Im under the assumption that the site owners make fake profiles to keep you coming back, by either messaging you once to never be heard from again or just being there when you search.

But who knows.

I've had this happen two or three time's. I don't get why they bother either. Unless they are spying on us???????????? And..........they deactivated right away! Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm, still don't know WHO!

Maybe the profile was a spammer and for one reason or another the site picked up on this and deactivated the account for them. If they were reported as spam by someone else maybe. Or sometimes the site filters can spot when someone is sending out the same pro-forma email to multiple people(not sure if that does happen here though).

I would guess that the site deactivates many accounts everyday for various reasons. Many people deactivate on their own all the time as well.

Some people may also use the de-activate/re-activate feature to leave and return on a regular basis too.

That's what I was going to suggest. We lock down accounts when it is clear that they are scammers.
