HOW CAN YOU TELL WHO IS BEING FOR REAL OR NOT FOR REAL.

You just have to take your chances really- take your time and talk talk talk- get to know them and have no expectations.

Not everyone is fake- its just weeding through the garbage to find the real ones takes time and patience.

You can't know for sure, just have to take a shot and hope for the best. My advice, don't invest too much emotionally until you've actually met and spent time with them in person.

I don't think you can ever truly know for sure, without meeting them in person -- and maybe not even then.

For me -- I have to go with what I know -- the longer I interact with people, the more I get to know them -- and I think, in many cases, real people with real personalities come out and reveal themselves, to some extent, even when it's only through words on a screen.

There are people I've known on this site for over a year and a half, and I feel pretty confident that they are who they say they are. And, sure, I could be wrong. It happens. But I think time carries a lot of answers....

be cynical and distrusting .. it'll pay off.

You can start by not trusting people until they have shown they can be trusted, and have proved somewhat that they are who and what they say they are. Dont take anything anyone says for granted, and question anything that doesnt quite sound right, and demand answer to these questions without settling for bullsh1t.
