...supplant the need to have actual face to face conversations with other living beings? No, because I'm pretty sure I will never meet anyone from here, so it's two different worlds for me. Or, is it an opportunity to express yourself in a semi-anonymous way without the threat of actual confrontation? Self-expression is a huge thing for me. Talking to friends here, discussing things, it's the real reason I'm here. I've been on a lot of sites -- few have forums, and none of the other sites have forums anywhere near as good as ours here. Confrontation is not a concern -- everybody who is capable of arguing with me is smart enough to know better.

Well as much fun as it would be to fly all over the US and make an azzzz out myself in person, this is so much easier

Well as much fun as it would be to fly all over the US and make an azzzz out myself in person, this is so much easier  ain't that the truth...speaking of my own personal experience! btw...where's the a$$ shot? almost didn't recognize you!  as far as the question, face to face, I much prefer, it scares me to think that one day there will be no such need or desire. I spend more time in my RL then on the computer. This has been an experiment for me, as well as an experience. It's just another form of socializing. |

It just gives me a way to get to know some people that I may not have gotten to know otherwise. I'd love to meet some people on here.. if they were actually close enough.
