For the linux aficionados in our amidst - the long awaited release of
Debian 4.0 has finally occurred!!!

And we can expect the latest Ubuntu in a matter of weeks. I'm
besides myself with excitement.

Something that never ceases to amaze me about GNU/Linux systems is the
diversity of supported hardware - ALL of these processors are officially
supported by Debian:

"A total of eleven architectures are supported including: Sun SPARC
(sparc), HP Alpha (alpha), Motorola/IBM PowerPC (powerpc), Intel IA-32
(i386) and IA-64 (ia64), HP PA-RISC (hppa), MIPS (mips, mipsel), ARM
(arm), IBM S/390 (s390) and – newly introduced with Debian GNU/Linux 4.0
– AMD64 and Intel EM64T (amd64)."

Plus all the chips to which others have ported Linux.

Is anyone planning to install this or upgrade to this soon? If so, what
method will you use? (apt-get, or burning/buying an ISO - and from
whom?)

Anyone know is someone is already selling DVDs of this?

(Nevermind about DVD sellers - I found some. Bet they'll be back-logged
though...)

coooool. I have been thinking about another Linux flavor for some time
now. I would like to try the new Ubuntu. I always make my own install
disks from ISO. Thanks for the info.
