HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. — Heard the one about the guy who walked into a bar with an alligator?
At Johnny's Saloon in Orange County, it was more than a joke early Saturday when a man arrived with his 3-foot pet gator on a leash. By the time police and animal control officers arrived at Johnny's, the gator was in the man's vehicle in the parking lot. Officers followed him home, where another alligator was found, animal control spokesman Ryan Drabek said. Both alligators were impounded and were being held Wednesday pending an investigation by the Department of Fish and Game, Drabek said. Alligators are not native to California and it is illegal to keep them as pets. A woman who answered the telephone at Johnny's Wednesday night declined to comment |

I used to have a neighbor who kept raccoons as pets. He had two of them. They ate dog food and could get into everything in the house.
Myself I favor more conventional pets like dogs and cats. |

In the state of Florida, it is called molesting a alligator and has a $5000 fine and up to a year in Jail!!!!! Feeding one is too. Its kinda of funny, they were in endangered species and now anybody of water here has them. It cost us money to get rid of them. By the way it does taste like chicken and is really good.

I remember on the News in Jeff City Mo. a guy had i can not remember the name of it for sure. But they get huge. Any way he fed it rats and he did not wash his hands good enough and he stuck his arm in the cage and the snake attacked and clamped down on most of his forearm. It would not let loose and they were afraid the pressure would cause him to loose his arm or part of it. They had to cut the snakes head off to get his arm released.
many cases of these dangerous animals turning on its owner just from instinct. |

This thread reminds me of a joke.
At an army training camp in Florida, the Sargent is giving a talk: "The main quality we look for in this army is commitment and toughness this is what I call commitment and toughness." An alligator came in the room and bit the Sargent penis. It stayed there for about a 10 seconds then the Sargent poked it in the eyes and kicked it off. "Now who's ready to show their commitment?" said the Sargent. A man put his hand up and said "I will, but promise you won't poke me in the eyes." |

Can alligators live in nasty lakes? I have a nasty lake in my back yard. It attracts very mean geese that like to attack me. I would like to have an alligator chase them away.
You can see the mean geese in the main photo I just put up. I need a photo of an alligator in the lake. That would be so cool. |
