.....
One thing I do know is you have to make and effort to keep the love re-blooming season after season. And sometimes thinks just wither and die no matter how well you tend the garden. ....

That's what my dad says. He says he still spends a lot of time courting my mom. Every year they recreate their first date and try to do the same thing they did when they meet 28 years ago.
My dad still chases my mom around the house tickling her. They are such brats sometimes. I sleep from 5am-1pm because of my work shift and they wake me up with all their loud giggling like school kids.

I want what they have. Is that too much to ask?

I think that you both find and create love at the same time. :)

That's what I am thinking. You find a guy who has a good foundation and then you create love. But what do I know....I am 21 and blonde 90% of the time.

I agree completely. I think that true love grows over time, not something that is just found immediately. :)

TelephoneMan thank you very much for the serious and thoughtful response. I was hoping for serious responses like yours.

This is my favorite line....."Love is deeper and more meaningful. Love is what you do all the rest of the time when you're NOT having sex"

I heard that somewhere else and it's something I say. I can't believe you know it too. I mean I can believe it.......it's just odd seeing one of my favorite lines popping up in someone else's post. I don't remember who first said it.

I'm speaking from experience. I'm now divorced, etc... but when I met my ex, picked her up in a Corvette, she looked hot as hell, couldn't keep my hands off of her... before the end of the date we were "doing it" down by a lake out in the mountains... developed a very powerful and sexy relationship from day one... but... we forgot to do the "friendship" thing... when the "honey moon" of the great sex wore off, neither of us like one another. I couldn't stand the things she thought were precious and worth while, and she thought the same about anything I appreciated. Ended in a very bitter divorce.

So I had to learn the part about friendship the HARD way.

I do not believe what my ex-wife and I shared was ever "love"... it was just hormones and lust, and we should have never gotten married so fast. We got married 8 months after we met for the first time. Not a good plan for success. If we would have dated a year, we would have broken up...
or did ya sell the corvette?laugh laugh

OOOHHHHHH I see the point of the thread now... Sorry for intruding.

The thread seems valid enough to me. She asked a simple, sincere question relating to all of us who genuinly compare our experiences to our realities and our realities to our hopes.
true enough however only certain opinions are worthy of reply to her thread..

i ALMOST fell for this one for about 2 sec..
bad day for me for trusting the human race i guess..

dont ya just hate that?laugh laugh

You can't create love, only the kind of relationship you forge out of it. flowerforyou IMO

I agree. When we do find someone special it is so easy to meet new people that we are always comparing the person we have found to the new people. Is the grass greener over there type deal.

You know, i seen alot of people say this, but it's not true for everyone. Why would i wast my time on comparing the one i let go to someone i don't even know. isn't that cutting yourself short and leaving no room for the other in some sence?

True love? I don't think anyone really knows what that is on this site. Because if they did and have had it. They wouldn't be on here looking for it. They might have an idea on what it is. But will never know until it actually happens.

Maybe not but I will try. Unless I find it in the diner I work in or on this dating site.

creating- is something you have total control over.. yes some people "create love" in the eyes they want to see it from..lots of controlling people out there.. now is it real love? i beg to differ this.... i say no.<I'd name it manufactured love>

a feeling of happiness, a feeling of sadness, a feeling of insanity i beleive you can create. but a feeling of love just happens if anything the other half created it for you.. by the way they treat you ,look at you , touch you. It takes them also to have love, cause love is not a singular thing you have to have 2..<except for loving yourself and thats not what this thread is about>

Can you fall in love with someone more and more the longer you are with them? Of course you can .It can grow and blossom as time goes on .. but it's nothing you created yourself.

I don't think most people compare consciously (some do I guess) ...I think it's unconsciously they compare. They go through tough times with their partner and then that hot person at their work place winks at them and they wonder if things could be better with another.

I can't speak for others but I know I have never felt it. I do know that my parents have it and I know that I what it and I hope that I notice it when it comes near me.

uh... yeah right...that's what they ALL say..

No really I did. Those other 10 people I responded too mean nothing to me (except that one cute guy).

Just razzin ya a little. I'm sure you'll do fine because you obviously are asking yourself the right questions, small town or not...
I wish I'd been that keen to ask the big ones at your age....oh well... (sigh) ohwell

If you weren't only considering locals I would ask to be your Mermaid.

Thx buttons. Maybe my term "create" is not accurate. I am not that articulate. I just notice that many people fall in love with those around them, not people from around the world. So unless that many people just happen to live near their soul mates there must be something else going on. Creating, building, or whatever.

thx buttons for the post right above. That was nice.

Well Mindy....let me say one thing.....your parents....mine....most of everyone's on here did NOT have the luxury of being able to get to know people from around the world and doing this kind of searching. They had to find someone within their own circle of travel and hope to find someone who could make it work.

Hi DHinkle

"one person" you say? If that is true I hope my one guy is on Mingle2 and sees my profile.

*Mindy wonders if soul mate is on her Mutual Match list*
*goes and looks*
