Imagine you are God and there is nothing but you in existance.

I imagine MANY have considered this same question. There is little
doubt that those who have considered it, end up in the realm of ancient
Mythologies, when an assortment of Gods and Godesses ruled the universe
and used us as part of their amusement. Being omnipotant would tend to
suggest that there would be little if any concience as there would be no
other to answer to for any wrong doing. It's unlikely there would even
be an idea of or experience of doing something wrong.

In the end the idea of multiple gods and goddesses playing games with
human kind was too uncomfortable as it created a world in which there
were no rules, not even free will was a comfort when any god, without
conscience could mess with you.

So came the idea of a single god. A god who actually experienced all
the emotions of a human being, benevolence, joy, anger, wrath, love,
hate and a being of concience.

So - back to your question, maybe the question shouldn't be, why would a
god create this universe and us, maybe it should be more like, why would
we create a god. My answer to this question would be, if you were
choosing the lesser of two evils, would you choose many gods with no
concience or only one with a concience????

Hey rainbow,

How could god possibly be bored.

He has the strangest creatures to keep him entertained.

Can you imagine the laughs an alien might get watching us scramble
around this planet?

It's a good question. Mine is Do you think he regrets what he started?

You know, all of this would have been solved if Adam had just kept a
diary.

From reading Genesis he created a lot of stuff and saw that it was good.
Then he created Adam but didn't make the remark that this was good.
Thoughts?

Please read Genesis 1:31 - Then God saw everything that He had made, and
indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth
day.

In answer to your question-GOD is GOOD, GOD made Man and Man is good.
GOD also gives us free choices to us we can either worship him or be
worldly. I will continuosly give GOD all the Glory and Praise and
Worship that he so deserves for the rest of my life:smile:

Ok, so he took a while to say that. Before it was just after he made
stuff that he said it was good.

But doesn't that mean that Eve was good, too?

What if we very slightly change the question. What if, after creating,
all that was in the universe, and after several attempts to correct it,
then it got board. What if Jesus was God simply saying, here - here's
my son, now I wash my hands of it and then moved on to the next new
universe.

That would kind of make him invisible though wouldn't it?

"From reading Genesis he created a lot of stuff and saw that it was

good. Thoughts?"

Ah you teased by giving only part of the story. When God finished with
creating man on the 6th day, he said something DIFFERENT:

GENESIS 1:31 "And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it
was VERY good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day."

Then he created Eve and said, "Some days I just amaze Myself."

'Then he created Eve and said, "Some days I just amaze Myself."'

How true! Then the angels saw Eve and said "Hey, I want some of THAT!"
and raped women of the earth - their offspring became the Nephalim who
spread through the lands causing great problems [Genesis 4, and the Book
of Enoch]. To remedy THIS problem God flooded the earth saving Noah and
his family - the last uncorrupted branch of humanity. God then said he
was sorry he made THEM - the ANGELS, not humanity.

Think I'm crazy? Flip ahead to the end of the Bible - read what Jesus
said and Paul wrote about the angels being bound up, their sins, and the
off-the-wall commentary in Paul ("...women keep your heads covered, dont
you remember the lust of the angels?")

Something that has intrigued me is that neither Adam nor Eve really had
a childhood. Today, people start off as kids then gain life experiences
till they get to adulthood.

hey, I just posted my story about Eve under the topic "what's your take
on Eve". Here so ya doesn't have ta go there I'll put it here too.

Personally I was in love with Lillith, she got a bad rap. The only
reason God made Adam, was to be a playmate for me. You see it was a
generous gift for babysittin all those dinasours that lived outside the
garden. When he turned to face me, I yelled at God "what is this"? He
said a playmate, like a piece to a puzzel, it fits." I said "You gotta
be kidding me" see, maybe, back then, I had goddess tendancies and
thought a playmate should be in MY immage. God was so angry and felt
sorry for Adam because I shunned him, so to spite me Lillith was created
for Adam. NOW that was a piece of work. Lillith and I got on real well,
taught 'ol Adam the game of hide and seek, he didn't find us for years.
When Adam finally complained to his creator, Lillith and I were both
banished from the garden and I never saw Lillith again. But I was around
to check out Eve. Oh, man, next thing I knew the dinasours were
disappearing, the garden was filled with babies and then there were shoe
stores and dress makers and malls - yea -like I said, I loved Lillith.
Anyone happen to have her email address?
