"Yes, we wave this flag of hatred, but you're the ones who made it..."

What do you think of your current home, beit state policies or country-wide policies? Do you feel what is happening is right, wrong, or indifferent? Do you feel helpless, strong, or don't really care?

Par my avatar I am disgusted with the country I live in, have been for years. We drop fire from the sky in the only bid of "freedom" that the word freedom has lost all and any meaning to me. We have killed, pillaged, and taken what we wished from countries that don't have a strong economy or army for defense. We take the very freedoms that are our's to have par the document that was signed the day this land was found and freed...disgusting.

I know what you mean, the kind of freedom the spanish inquisition used to practice. Love my country, just not happy with the exiting administration.

Well, if you think the grass is greener....

In failing economical times it makes it difficult to leave, but I do plan on leaving as soon as it becomes possible...you can wave your flag, I wave mine upside down.

i love my country BUT what i have seen happening in the war discusts me.

i spend my days and nights watching home videos that troops have made and uploaded to different sites and i wanna say,i thought the military taught discipline?if they do,where the hell is it?because i'm surely not seeing it in these troops.to be honest,it looks more like they just found some kid on the street, gave him a weapon and said "go fight in Iraq"

hell, everyone griped about Guantanimo Bay because "that's not the way we treat people" but they're doing the same things to civilians over there.no wonder all the countries hate us,we're truly making asses of ourselves

So, you plan on leaving. Do it. But the thing is, you won't. It would take balls to actually get up and leave. The rest of us will have to listen to you ***** and whine. A guy with an attitude like yours and no discernible skill set will have a rough time no matter what country you move to. Here's an idea, go to school. Study political science. Change what you don't like about the country. Thats how you make things better, not by running like a coward.

All things considered....

There will always be policies that I do not agree with. I could easily be p*ssed over the nose dive that my Roth IRA and my 401k have taken. Sure we are involved in needless and arbitrary conflicts...just seems like the way of the world to me. Seems like every nation experiences these same things in one form or another.

I could dwell on the things I do not agree on...but, what's the point?

Instead I focus on the good aspects of our society. In the greater context...we still have it pretty good.

Just my take on things.

Dam straight. I was making arrangements to leave (seriously) and immigrate to Toronto, Ontario. Canada is wonderful and Ontario is somewhat similar to the US, minus the undereducated militant right wing crowd. Uhh. grumble

Obama got in and the rest of us were able to breath a collective sigh of relief.

I am very disappointed in the turn this county has taken over the past few decades. My primary point of contention is US foreign policy and how that has been handled under the last administration. This nation enjoys unparalleled influence that could be sustained without the use of force. We had no enemies of any consequence until the wrong people were elected into office and insisted that we run headlong into unresolvable quagmires. grumble

Why is it when someone says that they are disappointed in the direction in which their country has been headed, there is always some redneck (who probably just adds to the embarressment) that is always willing to say "get the f**k out?

Fear has every right, yes right, it's in the first amendment, to be upset with his government and to voice his discontent. If noone voiced unpopular opinions, we wouldn't even be a republic. It is necessary for those who have an objection, no matter how small the minority, to do so. Without this kind of banter we would be no better than a totalitarian state. We've already consolidated the power into just two parties, both of which having the same agenda. If we silence all opposition, like the fundimentalist republicans would like, we might as well elect a dictator and be done with it.

Zack's quote of Lincoln is very appropriate. If the man were alive today, he'd probably move too.

Whatever that means. He got in. McCain was denied. The people collectively spoke and the undereducated rednecks were silenced. For the time being at least.

I guess it worked out just fine. Thanks for asking.
