I've been trying to recall the name of a particular dream state.
it's not night terrors.

"the crone on the chest" is one description. However, I was laying on my
side...
My memory for naming things is bad, sorry.

ET, what I found your description of this experience to be so very much
like others that I have read. These descriptions are fit into many
catagories, such as those who believe they have been abducted by aliens.
Also many who believe they have experienced death or even those who have
had near death experiences. Parts of your description also conform with
those who believe they have had psychic experiences and when finally
themselves have something to tell someone or warn the world about. It
may seem odd but there were studies done with psyche patients,
especially schizophrenics because so many of their experiences have been
described on this same level as yours and I guess the theory was, that
if they found out what part of the brain was "malfunctioning" they could
explain why these experiences occur within all these different groups.

It's an interesting topic for those of us who have never experienced it,
but from what I've read as with you, it can be a frightening and
sometimes even a painful experience.

Maybe in knowing that your experience is something many others have had,
and knowing that they have all been attributed to several different
ideas or beliefs' of what happened, will give you some comfort that you
are not insane. That one possiblility is, what happened may actually be
more normal than most poeple think. By that I actually mean normal, in
that you experienced a somewhat rare, naturally occuring condition that
affected that part of your brain that led you see and feel what you did.
That ultimately your thoughts, in trying to accept and define what
happened, created the reason most viable to your own spirituality. For
having a reason might have been a way for your mind to accept and
hopefully to prevent it from happening again.

No matter, I just hope you are not bothered by this again, it can play
havoc with your mind.

Thanks again for filling us in.

thanks for the reply,

I wondered about the brain thing, too. One reason I went to be seen by
he doctors, and physcs...

I should note, the thing I referred to about the hospital visit with my
gramma was a good experience. It was an amazing thing that happened
there. I'll tell about it sometime...

So, to have this dark was a surprise, lol. To say the least!
I should also note there was a lot of unexplained activity going on at
the house we lived in at the time, and with all of the negative energy
emitted there, I am not surprised now to understand it was feeding the
energies already resident in that home.
Myself, and daughter both have this sensitive thing going on. And, I'm
pretty sure at that time we were so open to everything going on (the
terror, negative energy from family members...) that we inadvertently
allowed more in... like a snowball effect.
Although a big black one, lol.

I have had experiences with death before, so I do know about the
physical effects.
Yet, so much did not mesh with just the scientific studies. And, being
myself, went further, and refused to see thing as one way just because
the actual proof wasn't in a neat box...

Wow, think of all we know now, and how far fetched it was a long time
ago... Herbal remedies deemed witches brew...

What I believe is I accidentally interfered with a process my gramma was
headed for. She was dying...
And, in doing so, I pissed something off, LMAO!

I dunno, for true. I just have the experiences to go by...

thnaks for being kind=0)

Possession doesn't seem *impossible* to me.

I've run into entities that were decisively noncorporeal. We have a
ghost that likes the attic of my grandma's old house (which no human
could safely inhabit- a child would go through the floorboards). Just a
condemned building waiting for the wrecker.

And most religions acknowlege spirits exist in many forms. I could see
some scenarios where one may seek a human host. Maybe to escape
predation by a stronger spirit, or maybe to predate on a human. The
spiritual world exists- there's more evidence to that effect than there
is that smoking causes cancer- but no reason to believe it's any safer
than this one.

Of course- even "possession" can't go too far. It's proven that, under
hypnosis or brainwashing, a human being can't do something they find
morally repulsive. You can't compel someone to kill, or commit violence,
or commit suicide.

Although you *can* trick someone into walking off the side of a
building because they think there's a bridge or something. But not to do
something they *know* will kill them.
