I've notice that about 85% of all the women profiles on this site say this very same line. "I'm shy at first but I open up when you get to know me." Whats up with that? Doesn't that apply to everyone? Well, at least most people. It's like saying "Hi, I breath air to live." We all know that. So why even mention something like that?

They are just letting you know they may not be as social as you expect. They may be introverts and wanted to be up front about it.

I guess the opposite to that would be, "I'm a wild woman that will most likely jump your bones on the first date". Maybe it establishes a "light at the end of the tunnel" that makes you pursue them hoping for the day they will open up.

Other lines that seem to pop up a lot. Great... It's so funny... Anyhow, I still think overall that people don't just blurt anything out to any stranger, until they talk to them for a bit. It depends I guess... but still... like I'm one to blurt things out to a perfect stranger... don't get me wrong I don't want to sound obnoxious or any thing... I just mean that I feel I can pretty much say anything about myself... In other words I'm pretty open... I hope I made some SENSE... |

I'm not shy. I don't do shy, I don't understand shy, and I don't relate to shy.
I'm not laid back, I don't want a laid back guy looking to have fun, and in my opinion guys who describe themselves as laid back are lazy and apathetic, passionless about life. They usually have jobs, not careers, and loathe what they do. They don't vote or cook. I'm outspoken and assertive and I adore laughing and learning. I want the same in my potential partner. I'm thrilled to be in that 15%. |
