$2.2 Trillion Illegal Alien Taxpayer Sticker Shock
SOURCE: WorldNetDaily.com

2/3 of immigrants cost Americans $22,449 per person a year, shows new
study.

WASHINGTON – Someone has finally fixed an approximate taxpayer cost for
between 12 million and 15 million illegal aliens residing in the U.S.

A new study by the Heritage Foundation’s Robert Rector found a household
headed by an individual without a high school education, including about
two-thirds of illegal aliens, costs U.S. taxpayers more than $32,000 in
federal, state and local benefits. That same family contributes an
average of $9,000 a year in taxes, resulting in a net tax burden of
$22,449 each year.

Over the course of the household’s lifetime that tax burden translates
to $1.1 million.

If the lower figure of 12 million illegal aliens is used for estimation
purposes, the total tax burden translates to $2.2 trillion.

“Would any of us buy shares in a company that we knew would produce a
loss of a million dollars a share,” asks Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa, in
response to the study. “Cheap labor is not cheap at the cost of over a
million dollars per head of household.”

Rector’s study, “The Fiscal Cost of Low-Skill Households to the U.S.
Taxpayer,” examines the economics of the 17.7 million American
households made up of people without a high-school degree. Using numbers
from the Census Bureau, the Congressional Research Service, the Bureau
of Labor Standards and other government agencies, Rector determined what
they earn, what they spend and what they receive in government services.

About half of the 17.7 million households studied are illegal aliens.
About two-thirds of illegal alien households are headed by someone
without a high school degree. Only 10 percent of native-born Americans
fit into that category.

“Over the next ten years the total cost of low-skill households to the
taxpayer (immediate benefits minus taxes paid) is likely to be at least
$3.9 trillion,” Rector writes. “This number would go up significantly if
changes in immigration policy lead to substantial increases in the
number of low-skill immigrants entering the country and receiving
services.”

'verbatimed',

Your question only raises one side of the coin!!! There are benefits in
this equation which far outway the costs.

This is why your government looks the other way, and has tolerated
(encouraged) an escalation in illegals since 2000, while doing nothing
to increase border crossing patrol (so little that it amounts to
nothing), nothing to hold illegals, or employers of illegals to the law.

The real question might be,
... what could the BENEFITS possibly be to your nation???,
... which brings your government, with the most powerful means of any
nation (if it REALLY wanted to solve the 'problem'),
... to not just tolerate, but encourage 'illegals' numbers TO
INCREASE???

Asking the real question, might help all of us better understand 'WHO'
and 'WHAT' maintains this crisis in place. Trading Heritage Foundation
Propaganda for real information, might bring better understanding of the
facts, and who knows? enlightened solutions might come out of it all!!!

Note:
The Heritage Foundation is by far the most effective Media Manipulation,
and 'right wing' ideology propaganda group in the US today.
There is nothing illegal or wrong about that, but regardless of the fact
that you dress a 'pig in a tuxedo', it's still a pig!!!
So is propaganda, it will never be objective, nor factual regardless of
the fact that one might dress it up as a 'reputable objective research'
!!!

I figured I'd pitch in with some benefit numbers for good taste!

Cost is only one side of the MONEY equation!!! Benefit is the other!
imo, we need to question both, in order to get to the full picture! and
take action on the right 'problem'!

And right now the money equation says to the large and growing vocal
opposition from the 'people': 'stop bashing the illegals, and direct
your battles towards WA'.

This money equation could start explaining the whys of illegal
immigration into the US. It might be as simple as this:

Add: Widespread abject poverty and starvation in Mexico after US
corporations relocated their cheap-labor plants from the US-Mexico
border to Asia, plunging millions of low-wage earning Mexicans into
poverty (living near teh border because the pants were there).

Add: An extremely porous, under-enforced US-Mexico border. Which WA has
no intention of enforcing!

Add: LOW-wage pressures on the 'commodity' segment of your US GNP, and
US employers anxious to keep their commodity farms or manufacturing
business 'open', for more profits, and willing to exploit the poverty
and fears of illegal immigrants to do so, with the full collaboration of
your government.

Add: The federal government anxious to curry favor with , and garner
votes from, business owners and the Hispanic community...thus, willing
to under-enforce borders and immigrations laws, and ignore illegal
hiring by employers.

Add: In the late '80's, your SSA had tagged at 189billion$, the
correllation between 'illegals' (contribute but never collect), and
employers SSA contributions. Today, SSA has become dependent on taking
in $7 billion annually of contributions from illegal immigrant workers
who will never receive benefits from the system.

EQUALS: Millions of illegal immigrants working for low wages and in poor
working conditions, grateful for "scraps to fall from the US table of
prosperity," per Dr. Groody.

EQUALS: Wealthier US businesses, and a much-richer Social Security
Administration, neither which reimburse local and state authorities and
taxpayers for the costs (education, health care, law enforcement and
more) associated with illegal immigrants.

EQUALS: And a very angry US citizenry, who vilify immigrants for being
here, rather than blaming the business owners who hire and exploit them,
the US government which lets them enter the US and profits greatly from
them, and the Mexican government which is happy to see them immigrate
out of their country.

"Our nation virtually posts two sign on its southern border: 'Help
Wanted: Inquire Within' and 'Do Not Trespass," says Pastor Robin Hoover
of Humane Borders.

"Without the help of immigrant labor, the US economy would virtually
collapse. We want and need cheap immigrant labor; in order for it to be
that cheap it must be 'illegal', but we do not want the immigrants."

I think that you are not going to settle the illegal thing. Do you know
what an illegal is? It is a sick bird.

To Voileazur: this is one of the best and most rational opinions that I
have read on this matter in tha last few months.

People do forget to take both sides of the coin and both sides of the
story.

Effectively enforcing security at the borders is difficult, but not
impossible. It hasn't been done because the same authorities that are
charged with the responsibility to do so, are primarily involved in the
trasegation of illegal aliens into the US. They are the first
beneficiaries in a long chain that reaches the tops of the highest
corporations that holds the reins of economic influence.

In order to stop illegal immigration, the house needs to be cleaned out
first. If those allowing the trespassers are not taken out of office and
made an example of, it would be very difficult to stop the whole circle.

JMHO.

Thanks Alada,

And darn right! WASHINGTON & the economy are the targets.

There are a number of 'fresh' Rep. and Dem. candidates whom are betting
their nomination drive on this issue.

If everyone does his/her homework, I'm sure there is a candidate that
will either take the message to congress, or who knows, be the next
President to bring the change about.

Voil, Have you considered that, for every dollar the Mexican illegal
pays to social security he sends probably 3 or four dollars to his
family in Mexico? And who would that affect the 'benefits' to the U.S.
economy?

With all due respect Olejeb,

You're scrapping for peanuts.

Have you take into account that the factories, farms, contractors,
etc.,
... selling their goods and products at higher margins (lower costs),
instead of closing their doors? (incapable to compete against downward
pressures worldwide),
... are contributing far more to your GNP and economy, than the illegal
with whatever might be left from his 350$ gross after spending on
survival here,
... and you suggest still succeeds in sending some 'peanuts' home!!! All
the power to him!

Viol, If 4 x 7 billion is peanuts....what is 7 billion?

we could care less about its what we see in day to day life that affects
us not whats on here its so good to at least have a freedom in here to

money money money, yeah great we all know you cant live without it in
the US as sad as that is but there is another cost that is higher than
the cost to the budget...

I will research this more and maybe some of you already know this so
ceck me if im way off mark here,

Study did by the some group dont remember who it was, but they gathered
inormation from multiple sources, end result....

27 americans a day are killed with a connection of some sort by illegal
aliens, 9 a day are from driving fatalities caused by illegals.

if you know where this info is it would be great to reference a site for
the group.

personally, i dont care about the jobs, the cash, bringing over their
families or any of the rest of that crap. what i do care about is what
it cost in american lives, the rest of it is argumentative and
pointless.

of course thats my opinion,

so your saying that while the rich get richer driving the country into a
hole we will likely never crawl out of. They dont have to worry when
they are sipping margaritas in their retirement villas in Acapulco. Is
that right?

"There are benefits in this equation which far outway the costs."
This is nothing but a flat out lie. They don't pay in as much to the
system as they steal from it. They do take jobs, and we in no way NEED
them. We don't need their drug runners and smugglers, we don't need
their rapist and murderers. We sure don't need to support every family
that sneaks a pregnant woman across in time to have that anchor baby,
much less do we need to learn Spanish or see our flag flown upside down.
I have never seen any benefit to anyone but crooked employers who make
money off the cheap labor. I certainly don't believe that they keep the
costs of goods down. Supply and demand determine costs, the profit
margin is just something that benefits the top people collecting the
profits.

fanta- have you ever heard of the libertarian organization called the
CATO Institute, I thought that you might have, any way this is taken
from one of their pieces, a study. I thought it was interesting and it
goes towards your comments about sipping margaritas.

Are the Rich Really Getting Richer?

"The number of U.S. households with a net worth of more than $5 million,
excluding their primary residence, surged 23 percent to surpass one
million for the first time in 2006, according to a survey released on
Tuesday," Reuters reports. "The survey by Chicago-based Spectrem Group
found that the number of U.S. households with more than $5 million rose
from 930,000 in 2005. In 1996, there were only 250,000 U.S. households
in the 'ultra-rich' category, Spectrem said. ... [T]he surge in
household growth is underpinned by economic growth in recent years,
which has fueled both stock market gains and also the market for private
companies. [The study] also ascribed gains to rising real estate
valuations and favorable tax policies."

In the policy analysis "Has U.S. Income Inequality Really Increased?"
Cato senior fellow Alan Reynolds writes: "There are frequent complaints
that U.S. income inequality has increased in recent decades. Estimates
of rising inequality that are widely cited in the media are often based
on federal income tax return data. Those data appear to show that the
share of U.S. income going to the top 1 percent (those people with the
highest incomes) has increased substantially since the 1970s. ...
Studies based on tax return data provide highly misleading comparisons
of changes to the U.S. income distribution because of dramatic changes
in tax rules and tax reporting in recent decades. Aside from stock
option windfalls during the late-1990s stock-market boom, there is
little evidence of a significant or sustained increase in the inequality
of U.S. incomes, wages, consumption, or wealth over the past 20 years."

BY TERRY SAVAGE SUN-TIMES COLUMNIST
The economic news gets better and better - low unemployment, strong
growth, no inflation - and the stock market continues to push against
its all-time highs. Then why did a record 1.44 million Americans file
for bankruptcy last year? In Chicago, bankruptcy filings climbed to
1,455 last year, a 5.8 percent increase in the figures for 1998 over
1997. That's twice the national bankruptcy rate of increase, which was
2.7 percent. Behind those statistics are individuals and families for
whom bankruptcy will have a long-lasting impact. Bankruptcy will stay on
their credit reports for 10 years, and will affect all future
applications for loans or mortgages. And there are hidden impacts; after
a bankruptcy you'll no longer qualify for the lowest rates on life or
car insurance. Employers who pull a credit report to assess your
character may decide not to give you a job or promotion when they see
the bankruptcy filing. Are more Americans headed toward bankruptcy, in
spite of all the good economic news? The latest figures show that more
Americans are over their heads in debt - and the savings rate is at an
all-time low. In fact, the savings rate actually turned negative for two
months, as people spent more than they earned - and charged the
difference!

There is your millionaires...LOL

The nation’s poverty rate rose for a third straight year in 2003 and the
ranks of the uninsured swelled, the Census Bureau said Thursday in a
report sure to fuel election-season debate over President Bush’s
handling of the economy.

Although the economy completed a second full year of expansion in 2003
after a recession that ended in November 2001, median household income
just barely kept up with inflation and was statistically unchanged at
about $43,300, the bureau said.

This is a real fair article, You should read it, Im not much of ab

Poverty Rate Up 3rd Year In a Row
More Also Lack Health Coverage

By Ceci Connolly and Griff Witte
Washington Post Staff Writers
Friday, August 27, 2004; Page A01

The number of Americans living in poverty or lacking health insurance
rose for the third straight year in 2003, the Census Bureau announced
yesterday, reflecting a job market that failed to match otherwise strong
economic growth.

Overall, the median household income remained stagnant at $43,318, while
the national poverty rate rose to 12.5 percent -- 35.9 million people --
last year, from 12.1 percent in 2002. Hit hardest were women, who for
the first time since 1999 saw their earnings decline, and children. By
the end of 2003, 12.9 million children lived in poverty
As expected, the number of people without health insurance grew last
year, to 45 million -- an increase to 15.6 percent from 15.2 percent.
White adults, primarily in the South, accounted for most of the
increase. The proportion of people receiving health insurance through an
employer fell to 60.4 percent, the lowest level in a decade, from 61.3
percent.

The census report provided hard numbers to anecdotal evidence that the
recent recovery has missed certain regions and segments of the
population. An additional 1.3 million Americans fell below the poverty
line in 2003, as incomes dipped for the poorest 20 percent of the
population. An additional 1.4 million became newly uninsured.

"This recovery has failed to reach those in the bottom half," said Jared
Bernstein, a senior economist with the Economic Policy Institute.

Pretty bleak stuff...................
Put this with what verbatium said about the cost of illegal immigrants
on the taxpayer, and it mind blowing.

And then there is the Gap..................

Income Gap Of Poor, Rich, Widens
U.S. Census Data Shows Gulf Between Rich And Poor Growing Larger

WASHINGTON, Aug. 16, 2004
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(CBS)

Quote

"For those working in the bottom half of the pay scale, they're under an
enormous amount of pressure."
Mark Zandi, chief economist, Economy.com
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(AP) Over two decades, the income gap has steadily increased between the
richest Americans, who own homes and stocks and got big tax breaks, and
those at the middle and bottom of the pay scale, whose paychecks buy
less.

The growing disparity is even more pronounced in this recovering
economy. Wages are stagnant and the middle class is shouldering a larger
tax burden. Prices for health care, housing, tuition, gas and food have
soared.

The wealthiest 20 percent of households in 1973 accounted for 44 percent
of total U.S. income, according to the Census Bureau. Their share jumped
to 50 percent in 2002, while everyone else's fell. For the bottom fifth,
the share dropped from 4.2 percent to 3.5 percent.

Jobs and the economy top the list of voter concerns this election year.
President Bush touts a strong economy that is growing, but polls find
that Americans have doubts and think jobs are scarce. John Kerry is
trusted more on the economy, with Democrats talking regularly of "two
Americas," divided between the rich and everyone else.

Notice the Census Bureau is the sources.....
