Daniel, I know exactly what you are looking for. And every thread,
virtually every thought that floats through this site is connected to
that ideal. But the dark cloak of political correctness has shrouded
that place in ignorance. The lack of education and the need for instant
gratification has done nothing but super-size the consumer minded ego
into wanting more, more, more.
You say you don't have the money to create such a community. But I
already told you that you have the heart. That is your currencey.
Plan to spend some time onit-but find a copy of Ayn Rand's "Atlas
Shrugged" this summer. Then let me know how you feel about your
community in the fall.

It hasn't been all that many years ago that ppl did jump to help one
another out when trouble hit. Haven't seen it in many years  Times
sure have changed and not for the better i'm afraid.

Steve-you should get with Daniel and discuss his community. History is
filled with unrealized innovations because the dream died with the
dreamer.

nusalor bothers me greatly, because he knows this system is currupt and
he basiclly says, so what deal with it, I do.

And I say FUQK all of you who holds these kinds of thinking.

People like nusalor are worse then the "soap and sports watchers"
because they actually KNOW that we are being screwed and this system is
evil, but yet they enjoy the fact that it doesnt bother them and they
are cheerleader for the fact that evil is around us and promote the idea

THAT WE CANT DO ANYTING ABOUT IT

To this I say FuQk the people that enjoy self-ubforbed boot-licking.

Its like they are addicted to licking-boots so long that they are
psycotic in that, they want others to enjoy licking-boots and eating
vomit too.

LOL

Pathetic but LOL

I try to avoid these sick lickers of boots...

I just mowed the lawn with fresh dog shiq....they can lick my 10 year
old nikes. LOL laugh

I agree with Daniel in principle.

Only it’s not rally about a barter system. Printed money can actually
be used as a ‘barter system’.

What it’s really about is moving away from seeking high-tech solutions
to everything. And relying on mega-farms and mega-industries, to drive
an economy-based society.

What we need to do is move toward low-tech solutions (i.e. natural
solution), and move toward, small-businesses and home-based
self-sufficiency. So that our society driven more from a personal
accomplishment perspective instead of a mega-economy perspectives.

I agree with you wholeheartedly Daniel. And it’s definitely doable in
a practical sense.

Please read my post in response to Twilightstwin’s thread entitled “E
85 Ethanol”. What I said there was along similar lines no sense in
repeating it here.

Let me know what you think Daniel.

No bear-I simply don't let it eat at me like it apparently eats at you.
I am encouraging this man to do something to change "the system" so that
he may enjoy life more. I am encouraging something radical-and you are
against it.
The problem, bear, lies within people like you. Angst filled whiners who
are afraid of change and refuse to debate the topic.

Here is a place that embraces Freedom, and barters.

Jack McLamb had a table at the last Denver Preparedness Show in 1999,
where he was selling lots in the Almost Heaven Covenant Communities.

Here is a newspaper article from 2004, that tries to disparage the
residents of the Covenant Communities, but you can glean a lot of useful
information from the`article.

Almost Heaven almost gone?

Thank you doc. I was happy to find your comment on the non-Imus issue.
Original thought is so scarce.

bear, whats the infatuation with licking boots. you do know that in the
mid east thats its considered an honor, a sign of respect for someone to
lick your feet.

looking for the tallest tree? thats whats wrong with stuff now days,
instant gratification, try finding a little sapling and nurturing it,
protecting it, feeding it until one day it is as migty as an oak? nope
got to have it now, microwave society life sucks, no one taking time.

well doc

you are a soldier and you know that this countries soldiers took an oath
to the Consitution and to protect the United States, and since you
support this governments involvement in the Middle East and killing
hundreds of thousands of innocetn people that this Constitution does not
support.

I would call you at best a boot-licker like Hitlers SS men and at worse
a traitor to the oath you took.

Now why did you take this original thread of topic?

so to the original topic, good ole days of bartering,,,yeah exactly when
was that, money has been around forever, unless you lived in like a
jungle community or something weve never had to barter.

now if refering to bartering tin the US, well weve never been a society
that bartered soley for goods. so now what, throw away the clothes and
go off into the woods, loin clothe in tow.
drink the kool aid.

what did you say about me? oh yeah thats right, im a person who even
though doesnt agree with you, has the right to believe as i chose, and
not be demoralized for it? yeah think thats what you meant to say,
icarus.

Doc-I think bear would want to date either one of us if he had the
chance...you first.

Bear-checking me out, huh? My profile contains absolutely no information
about me that is real, save the demographics. Shows that you believe
everything you read. No wonder you're so confused. You just don't get
it.

On the original topic. Just couldn't resist saying those were Nike's
covered in your doggy-doo, could you? Another lost soul in the consumer
driven frenzy for more, more, more.

Some small bartering does still exist today.(useally between friends or
associates.)
Our green money that we use nowadays is just another part of our gov
controlling our barter.
Witch has paved a path to greed.
