before you realised they were emotionally unavailable?

Then, out of stubborness, refused to move on, but tried to make it work?

I've refused to move on from someone before, but they were geographically unavailable and then later emotionally unavailable. Even when I suggested moving to Oklahoma to be with him after I graduated so I could go to vet school there, he just didn't seem to care that I wanted to be with him again.

Uggh... guys!

Maybe they were "just not into you" but emotionally available for another person.

Yeah, he came up with the lame excuse that he was too busy to have a girlfriend as it is right now... 2 weeks later he turns up with a new chick. Oh well, I'm used to being replaced that it doesn't phase me anymore.

Lets just say, for the purposes of this thread, that they aren't available to anyone. flowerforyou

Maybe he was too busy for a relationship right then.
The other girl may have been just a one night stand.
Too busy doesnt mean a man doesnt still have lusts!

Nope, she's his girlfriend. He said he wouldn't do what my first ex did to me, but he pretty much did it and then lied about it. Oh well, he was a spoiled rich kid. Didn't have a job, his daddy owned an oil company, he owned and flew planes. You get the picture.

Yes. It kinda reminds me of buying a car that is a lemon. You put all this money and effort into a car. You suddenly realize that you are putting more into it than you are getting out of it. If you get rid of the car, you have to admit that you bought a lemon. Sometimes that's hard to do.... It was for me anyway. I didn't want to admit that I fell for someone that I KNEW wasn't available to me or anybody else.

I found someone who is there for me though. There are good ones out there. Sometimes where you least expect it. you just have to be willing to take another chance on it.
