I'm saying that you have no idea if or how many may have tried to leave!
As for going to the Gaza to prevent this. I think a UN force, without American troops, should be there. The reason for no American troops being that America is pro Israel. Said UN Peacekeeping force mandated and given the Rules of Engagement necessary to protect themselves, the populace (of either side) and property. seeing as how nobody ELSE is doing anything productivbe to stop this destruction??

You people are insane,I support Israel and am surprised Israel didn't defend itself long before now,Gaza was attacking Israel with deadly missiles for quite a few years.
The people of Gaza are getting warnings of Israeli bombs. Israel took missile attacks from Gaza for years and nobody warned them of missile attacks. I say let Israel destroy he unsavory elements of Gaza. |

Israeli has defended itself before now. It occupied Gaza. Many of it's own troops saw the occupation and forceful relocation of Palestinians as illegal. The people of Gaza are getting warnings of Israeli bombs.
And after heeding those warnings and going to 'safe' areas or refugee camps get bombed by the Israelis. Israel took missile attacks from Gaza for years and nobody warned them of missile attacks.
Just as the Haganah and Irgun warned no Palestinians (or British) of their attacks. Oops!! Me bad. The Haganah and Irgun were on the winning side. They weren't terrorists .....they were freedom fighters. I say let Israel destroy he unsavory elements of Gaza.
And that includes innocent civilians? |

To show them we are changing, and do it from a position of strength! 1.) We should first march on Wa. DC and demand Bush be removed and Obama's term to begin as of today! 2.) We should move a Naval Fleet into the Med. directly off shore of the Gaza strip, and demand Israel pull out or we will target all of their fighters and artillery! 3.) At the same time we should tell the Palestinians that we will offer this protection as long as they cease firing rockets at Israel. 4.) We should then demand both countries enter into negotiations with us aboard a US Navy cruiser! 5.) We should order Israel to withdraw to the UN Mandate of 1948. Move Marines and Army Divisions (F*ck the UN) into place as moderators until Israel gets the message that the days of unconditional US support and subjucation to them are over! What do you think? |

Wouldn't work. A..It would probably be unconstitutional for point 1. B..The majority of the American public wouldn't go for it. That bit bit about the US not being the policeman of the world and all that. C..International opinion would be against you. Same reasons as B. D..Never underestimate the lobbying power of the JDL and other groups. Rather.......... Stop the UN from having to beg for troops and equipment for Peacekeeping. Instead of having troops do a temporary stint wearing the Blue Beret have member nations allocate troops to the UN for periods no less than 5 years, gives them time to function as cohesive units. Member nations give the UN the equipment to equip said troops. Troops assigned to UN duty remove the little shoulder flashes of individual nations and wear world emblem of UN. Again builds cohesive units. Rank and pay continues to come from nation of origin. This allows UN to have the personnel at it's disposal for Rapid Deployment Force able to intercede in matters. Making no one nation the 'bad guy'. Remove the power of veto from permanent members of the Security Council. That way needed action cannot be blocked by an interested member. |

Its not perfect. What government is? But it has its uses.It has done good work in the past and still does occasionally.The world is better with it than we are without it.Its not a world government but rather a world forum where all the worlds government are allowed to say their stuff to each other in public.It allows a certain level of venting for the nations of the worldIts more useful than not.
