 Is it okay, when you dislike someone, to openly dislike them?:smile:Or should you suck it up and be civil because you are an adult?

Be civil.

It depends on the surroundings I guess. For example, if I worked with this person I would be civil and respectful as possible to just get my job done. But if this person were trying to be around me, or a friend of my friends and was coming around and I didn't like them, I might make it clear I didn't like them.

There is always going to be people in this world that we just don't like, and just don't like us. But that doesn't mean that they don't deserve to be treated with common courtesy. We are all human, and we all deserve to be treated as such.

I found that most times it's best just to keep quiet & forget about it

I don't know. I have usually been civil, except under extreme circumstances. I'm not sure. I guess I don't quite understand what you mean by "openly".

Nobody is safe from me. If I don't like somebody, they'll know it either directly or indirectly.

Keeping enemies close is sage advice. I tend to kill people with kindness. My ex used to say I never told him anything, so I started calling and telling he and his wife all this little detailed stuff until they got sick of it. laugh

Depends on who they are & what they've done, and where we both are at the time.
If it's just someone who's personality clashes with mine, I'll be civil when they talk to me. If it's someone who's betrayed or hurt me, I'll tell them, point blank, to back the f*** off. The only exception to this would be if we were both at a mutual friend's house at the same time. Then I'd try to be civil out of respect for my friend.

There are a couple people in the groups I hang out with that don't even receive an acknowledgement from me that they exist. It might have to do with at least one of them breaking into my home, trying to scare my friends away from me and going through my things. I don't expect that attitude to change, and I'm not going to shake someone's hand because of peer pressure because we have similar interests. It's only a matter of time for these people. Eventually they will get caught doing something terminally stupid and will disappear. Here, I prefer to be drawn towards people I like as a person or can relate to and try really hard to ignore the rest.
