Vermont Senate: Impeach Bush
Friday, Apr. 20, 2007 By AP/ ROSS SNEYD Article (MONTPELIER, Vt.) —
Vermont senators voted Friday to call for the impeachment of President
Bush and Vice President **** Cheney, saying their actions have raised
"serious questions of constitutionality."

The non-binding resolution was approved 16-9 without debate — all six
Republicans in the chamber at the time and three Democrats voted against
it.

The resolution says Bush and Cheney's actions in the U.S. and abroad,
including in Iraq, "raise serious questions of constitutionality,
statutory legality, and abuse of the public trust."

"I think it's going to have a tremendous political effect, a tremendous
political effect on public discourse about what to do about this
president," said James Leas, a vocal advocate of withdrawing troops from
Iraq and impeaching Bush and Cheney.

Vermont lawmakers earlier voted to demand an immediate troop withdrawal
from Iraq in another non-binding resolution.

Democratic House Speaker Gaye Symington has kept a similar resolution
from reaching the floor in her chamber. She argued that an impeachment
resolution would be partisan and divisive and that it would distract
Washington from efforts to get the United States out of Iraq, which she
says is more important.

In the Senate, Republican Lt. Gov. Brian Dubie had opposed the
resolution, but he was absent Friday. That left Democratic Senate
President Pro Tem Peter Shumlin in charge, and he immediately took up
the measure.

More than three dozen towns voted in favor of similar nonbinding
impeachment resolutions at their annual town meetings in March. State
lawmakers in Wisconsin and Washington have pushed for similar
resolutions

However, an impeachment requires absolute proof of criminal activities.
If we had that proof, the democrats would make sure to show it on every
concievable news source that exists.

If it were a matter of personal opinions that have no value in any
court of law, I'd be right there next to you organizing the lynch mob.
But impeachment is a legal thing- and no one's shown anything yet that
holds water.

OK if they do it what will the result be.

Lets see...
it will drag on and on with suits counter suits appeals political
maneuvering blackmail accusations revelations etc...

The government will end up spending millions and millions of dollars for
what?

Bush will be out of office in a bit anyway.

He will write a book and make a few more millions.

Bush? He's probably never even read an entire book. I don't think he
could write one. But he might slip someone a mil to do it for him and
make it look good.

the problem is shawdow, some people believe that this government should
kill hundreds of thousands of people over lies.

they love lies and they love to lick boots and grovel.

most that have replied to you here were used military butt wipe, just
like the traitor Kissinger said.

Kissinger said that they are worthless worms to be used.......

but some military men just dont get it.

they can be sprayed with agent orange in Nam or Depleted Uranium in the
Middle East, and the returning vets get shiq on...

but they still wave the flags.

my question is; Why are they ignoring their oath to the US Constitution?

hmmmm.... boot lickers?

sticks and stones.... you dont know what goes on over there except for
what someone has told you they might have heard from someone else maybe
who was there but more than likely heard it from someone else, like an
urban legend.

we're killing millions? wheres the bodies? conspiracy nutjob.

returning vets getting shiit on when they come home? only from people
like you. yeah yeah yeah, tell me about run down housing and crap like
that, and then try to blame Bush himself for it, when any body with half
a brain knows that the first kobs cut by clinton were military jobs and
with it money to do renovations, beef up the VA's and fund better
training and equipment. We are still realing from the clinton
administrations policies. oh yeah and since no one will bring it up, you
do realized that 13 years after clinton said "our boys will be home for
christmas" we still have soldiers fighting in Kosovo- but that guy gets
a free pass from all you socialist, why it that?

kissinger - the moron... he was but a pawn himself, at least i know my
role, and am content with the job that I do on the battle field making
sure I plug as many holes as i can- and you sir sit comfortabley safe,
arrogant in your tone, expecting any day for someone to knock on your
door and give you a hand out- you wantamaerica to be better, then do
something about it. Get off your butts- man up, speak out from the
corner of a street, start a real grass roots movement or shut the hell
up, either way I dont care- your a mighty fine internet Rambo Comando.

For the record- I do NOT grovel.

My oath to defend the constitution against all enemies foriegn and
domestic is something I take very serious. the enemies of this country
are not who YOU say they are, last time I checked there was but one
commander and chief, he resides at 1600 penn, cant miss it big white
house, large fence, knock on the door sometime.

If everyone is bound before the President. Then who is he bound too?

Shadow he said bound to the consititution not to the president.

and he is right.

The oath I took was first to the consititution and the people of the
United States.

soldiers take orders from those appointed over them by authority of the
president of the US, not the senate, not the house of representatives,
not the supreme court. not joe smoker on the street.

if the president himself is an enemy of the constitution then it is the
congress' job to impeach, not the armed services. doing something that
you dont agree with is not an impeachable offense, dont like it then
vote in the next election.

the commander in chief is the highest elected official by the populous,
in case some of you forgot. so like it or not until he is out of office
we are doing the populous' biding.

oh by the way army vet here, over 12 years and still going thanks.

If some of you are vets that swore to the Constitution then why are we
in Iraq.

do you think that the terrorists with box-cutters have row boats and
more box-cutters?

I know that this government is traitorous in that we have open borders
so that kids with more box-cutters could do us in, but why do you still
think that our soldiers are supporting the oath they gave too?

From what Ive read, our forefathers would be hanging just about everyone
in DC.

The soldiers are bound to the Constitution as is the President of the
United States, however the Constitution gives the President control of
the military. Thus the soldiers are bound to the President's orders by
the Constitution of the Unitied States.

As for impeachement, the President can "raise" all the concerns as teh
liberal state government of Vermont, wants, that does not make it an
impeachable offence. Every President does things that raise concerns to
some group or another, the question is are those actions impeachable or
just questionable?

Honerable Veterns.

It has been said that terrorists have box cutters and row boats.

sorry to bust your bubble but most of them have AK's and RPG's.
