The feeling of being lonely comes and goes... just depends on what point one is at in their life. Sometimes one is focused on other things for quite a while actually, then that little lonely feeling rears up it's ugly head and makes one think of wanting to share moments with someone special... then you get through that episode. Until the next time...

I used to get "episodes" like that much more frequently years ago. Now, it's like, "Pfffft!" I don't even care anymore. The feeling comes, the feeling goes, and I barely even notice it.

Hobbies and goals. When she shows up she shows up.

Meh.

There are up's and down's when you are single or taken. I was ok with being single on some days and other days i would feel lonely. Now i'm taken and some days that's not easy either..if that makes any sense

I don't think it becomes 'less' important as a single person...and sometimes it is a space that feels empty. But you'd better like your own company first - then a signficant other is a great addition! Besides, even in a relationship, you can be lonely.

Sometimes miss having the other half of a couple, but others I'm content with my life.

The whole "lonely existence" thing gets less important as time goes by. After all- none of it will matter after a certain point in your life anyway, right?

ive never really envisioned myself with anyone ever. not even as a little girl when all my sisters and friends were playing wedding. im definitely a woman worth loving and being loved by but i just dont think that longterm that person exists for me. i dont know why. but i am happy. and i dont think that even if later in life should i change my outlook that i will not ever regret the happiness i have now. maybe in three years i will have found the person that makes the perfect perch for this freebird. if not im not gonna sweat it. it doesnt disable my capacity to love any. i think even unrequited love flows back to the heart to soften and purify it.

isnt that life? its one of the beautiful things about life. no matter how hard you work at some thing sometimes it rewards you and sometimes it lets you down.....sometimes without doing a thing at all it surprises you a jilts you to the core with pleasure.

Over the last 4 years, it has become less and less important to me.

I would rather be alone then with someone that's bad for me.

Alone doesn't mean lonely to me.

i live with my daughter and her boyfriend so shouldnt feel lonely but i miss having someone to hold me and just the closeness of the opposite sex
