A couple locals were talking in the diner yesterday morning.

They sneered as they exchanged derisive remarks about "those animals" in D.C. They chuckled meanly in anticipation of the riots that would surely occur.

Guess what?

With over a million guests in DC yesterday, police report no arrests, no serious injuries, no significant property damage, and 30 lost children returned to their parents.

Funny isn't it?

In addition to the Park Police, DC Police, Metro Police, various military and the Secret Service, there were volunteer policeman from I believe every state also on hand. The crowds were enormous but everyone seemed happy, if impatient. I think it being absolutely freezing also helped laugh

Maybe Obama will not only bring peace and world harmony...but maybe he can cure the inner cities like DC and Atlanta, Chicago that are so violent..Maybe even people will stop stealing and mugging and raping and killing each other, since he is giving the Whole wide world new hope...Yes He can!

There were a few incidents with the common folk as well. One woman was pushed off the Metro platform as a train was coming through the tunnel into the station. They couldn't pull her out so one of the out-of-town police officers jumped down and pushed her under the ledge. No one was seriously hurt though, thankfully.

Along the parade route it seemed the cop/citizen ratio was about even. I found that disturbing.
