If you REALLY want awkward, try eating the food you just got via take-out in your car. Alone. Now THAT'S awkward.

I dine alone, go to movies alone. Raised an only child, so that doesn't bother me at all.

If you want to jack with the other people in the restraunt, go to a buffett.
Get your first plate of food and have one side of a conversation, then get your second plate, sit on the other side of the table and have the other side of the conversation. The looks you get are great...... |

dining at a restaurant alone? No, if I want restaurant food I will order it to go. |

You get use to it after awhile.... It's better than "just getting used to it" after a while too. It's only that bad when you're just getting your single legs back. Even when I go into a restaurant alone, in one case, almost immediately an 11 yearold plops down in the chair opposite me and whips out a deck of uno cards, while his big sister ever so carefully gets me a cup of coffee after I've picked a few choice delights from the buffet. She never spills a drop on the coaster unless her little brother elbows her. Then I get to watch that 11 year old being abused by her big sister. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

dining at a restaurant alone? Lunches, no big deal. Usually on a timer anyway. For take out dinners no worries... actually eating at a sit down style restaurant for dinner solo? no. |

If anything, I get more uncomfortable when eating dinner with people. It's probably because I've eaten alone for SO long that I kinda get weird when eating with friends, dates, family, etc.

Sure, why wouldn't I. I don't necessarily care to be there by myself, but oh well.

I hate it but have done it a lot this year since I traveled almost every week for work.

Except when I start talking to myself ![]() ![]() Having long hair and bluetooth does add to the entertainment factor. If someone starts staring at me, I excercise one of 2 options. a) Unhide the bluetooth and point to it. b) Do something off the wall, and scare them more. Option b is generally the preferred choice. |

Most of the time, the things we need to do are uncomfortable to do, at first. It's truly near impossible to find and be a new friend to someone from the confines of my own castle. Get outside your comfort zone. Get into someone else's. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
