I've been 'off' of work for 2 mos. My position of producer was eliminated at Thanksgiving. Along with 149 other positions at the company I worked for.spock

No biggie, I was tired of the same thing .. day in, day out anyway. Had lost passion and there was no challenge. I need challenge.

BUToops

I've now been off for 8 weeks. I've never been without work before. I thought I'd LOVE it. I mean I was paid (severence) to do nothing. LMAO.

whoa But I find it's booooooooooorrrrrrring as hell. whoa Well perhaps hell isn't as boring as this is. hmmmmmyawn asleep asleep asleep

I was used to getting 5 weeks vaca @ my job, so I figure I better enjoy that now because once I start a new job, the most I'll get is a week or two.

But I never realized how repetitious looking for work can be. yawn yawn yawn yawn

In my best Charlie Brown voice .. ((((( IS ANYONE OUT THERE? DOES ANYONE UNDERSTAND? )))))sad2 slaphead

i understand ooohhh so much

been looking for something other than watching more kids since well years actually but everywhere i apply pretty much just looks over my application and passes it by which is funny being that 4 of the places i apply at are always needing employees cause no one wants to work for the ass holes that are in charge ..

babe.. i helped write the book on your pain..
ive been out of work since july.
now i have a 2 day a week part time job that is just not cuttin it..
at least you got a severence.. that helps with the bills.. most of the rest of us didnt, so we look and look for work, dont find anything, and try to figure out wether we pay electric or water or rent this month.. cuz we can only afford one of the 3.

Well that's fantastic babe! I don't 'do' hammers. laugh

BUT .. my kids are lovin it. Breakfast every morning before school. I make all the lunches now. Dinner never an issue.

Honestly I have nothing to whine about. My severence has kept me in good shape so far.

And speaking of shape, I'M also getting in it. I'm totally back to a work out plan .. never felt better.

I think just being a type A and needing something to get charged up about is setting me back a pace or two.

hmmmm need an assistant? I serve pizza and beer for lunch bigsmile

oh boy do I feel your pain... And I look around here and think its no different for a lot of people now... But fate was kind to me , I have a source of income and can kick back and let all this economic trouble pass. Oh and fot the lady abiout watching kids? even thats begining to pose problems for day care providers.. with families out of work they donn't need that service anymore .. It trickles down you know.

bored staying at home? bored not working?

hell if i could afford it, i'd never work again. i'd find lots to do:

monday - pedicure, lunch with friends
tuesday - gym, lunch, massage
wednesday - shopping, shopping, shopping
thursday - gym, lunch, shop some more
friday - hair appointment, dinner

Yes well the economy made me more needed since I work as a Social Worker in health and benefits. We are seeing an influx of people that haven't ever recieved benefits in their life. I hope all of you find something in your area or at least a vacation spot to explore during your hiatus. Seriously, good luck to all of you.
