She's 85. She went in the hospital for some minor surgery and had a stroke while she was there. She lives with her son, who also is not really well. I go over every morning and get her up, showered and dressed, then go back in the evening and help her get to bed.

I've been doing this for almost 20 years, nursing home, worked for Hospice for a year, and home health aide for the last 10 years. Now I'm just part time. (around my golf game )

Hi Flame flame is right ..that is a wonderful thing you are doing. If you want to see something I find really special, cut and paste this link: www.mrkeckontheroad.homestead.com It's a website I built about a 10 day road trip I took with a 99 year old man. I worked for him for 8 years. He died 2 months shy of 102 years old. I miss him still.

Just another day to eat chocolates! Chocolate??? chocolate? sniff sniff..do I smell chocolates??? Better hand it over before someone gets hurt!

I started doing home health aide work because after a year in Hospice, I found that I got too attached to them and it was really painful when they died. At least the people I get to work with now are around longer and I get to know them much better.
