Topic: What's your take on California mom of octuplets?

Personally if she were financially and emotionally able to take care of her children, I'd say good for her. But for the mother of 6 who is presently receiving public assistance to yet again have multiples by choice, is beyond my realm of understanding. Her older children are taken care of by her parents, where she lives and claims not to be living off taxpayer moneys. Hey, isn't food stamps taxpayer money?

Just heard on the news that she has a site and is accepting donations, where she happily takes Visa/MasterCard and Amex?

saw on Dr. phil today.I believe the doctor should be sued. There's no reason a woman who is on welfare should get help to concieve more children. It's freain crazy and someone should pay or lose their license

I saw the cluttered house where she is living. There's no room for all of the children. Your article says that she owes $50,000 in student loans too.

I really feel sorry for all of those children and one mom on welfare. It's the children that will suffer.

hear they are receiving death threats, that's totally not cool!!!

Suleman has been supporting her six other children with $490 a month in food stamps and receives Social Security disability payments for three of the youngsters that could total $2,379 a month.

She has estimated her in vitro fertilization procedures have cost $100,000.

if she can work to save money for in vitro, she can work to feed her kids, clothe them, shelter them, etc., just my opinion.

Suleman has said she saved for the treatments by working double shifts and also used money from a disability award exceeding $165,000 that she received after an on-the-job back injury.

I do wonder how she pulled that off. On-the-job back injury and then worked double shifts. That just doesn't sound right to me.

And then...how did the back feel when pregnant with 6 babies? An injured back couldn't handle that. It's difficult for a healthy back.

I think it is sad that there are people in the world that would love to have just one child.....but they can't afford to get fertility and they make too much for welfare. What is wrong with this picture?????

in our todays world we are allowing doctors the right to do this and gets away with it, sorry that this woman was used by the company to see would if really work again, and yes as a tax payer i really don't think we should have to fit the bill, sue the doctor and make it be put in there hands not the peoples, time that we stop letting doctors get away with things like this...

If her BACK was so badly injured, surely carrying all those babies inside and now having to tend to 14 kids should hurt her back NOW. This situation is a farce and she's getting away with it. She's a one-woman freak show and should have been sterilized or at least no professional should have entertained her mission. I smell all sorts of lawsuits and penalizations. And, if her previous employer is smart, that employer will sue her for a false claim. The government should also seek restitution for a false claim. Is she bodily disabled or not? Seems if you can carry all that and pop them out and tend to them without recreating or adding trauma, she really wasn't all that injured.

I agree with punishing the doctor. How about instead of the tax payers having to foot the bill.....let the doctors that are responsible take care of the costs.

I think they are both responsible the doctor and the woman. In an interview she claimed to be aware of the risks and was ok with it.

but she suffered swollen lip syndrome ()

in the news it was said she just had lip augmentation so she can look like her idol - Angelina Jolie

Why not use those funds to feed your kids???
Why if you can work for in vitro procedures can you not work to support your family?

So many aliases???

guess I am just full of questions laugh
