I just received this e-mail and well, it seems harmless cause it is. But
it has me baffled.

I went to go look at this person's profile to get a better idea who they
were and what it is I should start a conversation with, but when I went
to go look, the account was DEACTIVATED. How can I respond to somebody
for the very first time and not know anything about them? It may be just
me but I like to read a person's profile after a very first contact. Am
I alone here?

Hmmmm.... Seems a lil' odd! I always get someone who I never met try to
im me....I politely ask to talk through e-mail...usually never hear back
though...I dunno!

He is trying to IM me now, I just can not do it. I need to see a

content like that, I'm surprised you didn't fall asleep halfway through
it....!!

I don't know, I rarely get random messages from out of the blue here
--95% of my emails are from people I either know from the forums or who
are writing about something on the forums -- of the ones who have
written for no apparent reason, I will go and check out their profiles
and there is almost always some sort of red flag to be seen.

I really only have 3 red flags, so the presence of even one is more than
enough for me to write back with a "thanks for the note, but...."
response, if they have suggested any sort of "get-together" in their
email.

Unless it's a spammer (which has only happened a couple times), in which
case I report it.

I actually wouldn't mind if more random people did write, provided they
had at least taken the time to check out my profile and understand what
I am NOT looking for!

Things are looking better and better............And Whisper, I've gotten
emails like that. I can't stand it either when I get an email from
someone who doesn't have a photo up. I have it stated right on my
profile that I will not respond back to emails from people who don't
have a photo up. LOL

Gotten some of those before. I don't really see much of a point in
talking to someone who doesn't have much in their profile (or doesn't
have one at all) because they probably don't have much to say in person
either.

but that's just my way of thinking, and I'm sure that's not always the
case.

There is really no point of making an issue of it. Draws more ATTENTION
to you and him. Use your block button....don't feed the fire.
