LDR=Failure...well, in my opinion anyway. Suppose you can take my opinion or test the water yourself.

They can be successful, but rarily they are. They require more communication than that of a typical relationship, as well they require both parties to be openly involved in one another's life which can lead to disasterous consequences (poking and prodding only leads to some level of violent outburst, which then in turn leads to breaking up)...so now we have the base, two people, now we have to add to the base a number of tiers. Communication-tier 1; trust-tier 2; honesty-tier 3; distance-tier 4; time spent together-tier 5; and the backbone, mutual feelings-tier 6.

In a typical relationship you only have 3 or 4 tiers, which even then are barely managed the majority of the time...

you have too much time on your hands.
What happens when you work for yourself

I guess I'm a harder boss on myself than you are. I'm doing 2 jobs right this moment. When I get home, I have to finish (try to) another project.

And (seriously), just breaking off every so often to keep myself settled with THIS.

I never gave LDRs much thought until now...I SHOULD be working harder! lol

The definition of "relationship" means different things to different people, obviously. I think a long distance relationship, in my definition, is quite impossible. I have friends that live far away, and we talk and laugh. I date a girl thats now in Dallas (180 miles), but thats not a real relationship to me. It's a date.

Distance is nothing.

If you are serious...it will happen.
If you ain't.....it won't.

Trust me...I live in the middle of Texas...my woman works in China....Yet, after more than 20 years...we still feel like kids around each other.

If it ain't real love...it don't matter....I got more ex's in my home town than I do "One True Loves"

K, I have to agree. Sometimes for reasons beyond our control, the one we love is away from us. It can be that jobs are tight, money is tight, small issues, etc,...etc. As you know, I have been to Texas 2 times to be with the one I love. It is always my hope to be back there for good or to go to a place that will work out. But, as I see it you never,...ever,...ever give up, and when it feels like your as low as you can be, you push harder toward the one you love.

Guess me and Dan r rare then!!

Weve been in a LDR for the last 2yrs, and see eachother for about a week in every month, more if we can, money and time permitting.

Anyhoo, when i think of LDRs, i think of Dan n me and how it wont be much longer that were in one!

We will be living together :)

LDR - distance makes the heart grow fonder....I used to love it when my ex worked out of town. It seemed we appreciated each other more when we were apart. At least I did.

It does, it also keeps the relationship feeling new.
