Topic: CELL PHONE vs. BIBLE

I wonder what would happen if we treated our Bible like we treat our
cell phone?

What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets?

What if we flipped through it several times a day?

What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it?

What if we used it to receive messages from the text?

What if we treated it like we couldn't live without it?

What if we gave it to our kids as gifts?

What if we used it when we traveled?

What if we used it in case of emergency?

This is something to make you go....hmm...where IS my Bible?
Oh, and one more thing. Unlike our cell phone, we don't have to worry
about our Bible being disconnected because Jesus already paid the bill.
And no dropped calls!

what about accidentally dropping it in the toilet? or the lake? loising
it after we've been drunk for the night, and how would we get random
calls from it? lol

As a communication device it would leave a lot to be desired.

If you cell phone provider acted in the manner of your bible provider
where would they be.

no dropped calls? When WAS the last time god personally answered your
call?

Let me see you call a friend with your bible.

How bout callin in an emergency? What is gods response time?

You don't need a bible to communicate with god. All you need is faith.

I think if we did this, you'd have a lot more discusstions like the ones
we've encountered in this community. Can you imagine the actual fights
that would occur in a face to face encounter over the interpretations of
the words and stories.

I think ultimately, most people would discard the book, in fear of
confrontation.

The cell phone is by far the greater tool in this case to keep peaceful
communications. After all, when was the last time anyone got in a fist
fight over the benefits of one cell phone contract over another?

My Bible is right next to my pc. I also carry it in my car. Never know
when I might want to refer to it. Or have a need to show a passage. Or
look one up in order to be disproved.

My cell phone is a pain in my butt. I keep it with me, but when I have
accidentally left it home. My peice of mind is healthier. I don't have a
problem being without it. It actually is relaxing to not have it on me
24/7. I cannot stand hearing people phones singing, ringing, obnoxious
sounds, while in a public place. Much less their loud talking while I am
not in the least bit interested in what they are talking about.

I have been seriously thinking of not renewing my account, except that I
make my mom keep one on her so I can know that if she is in trouble or
stranded she can call one of us. And, it is cheaper than my home phone,
with more options.
