The only thing I can say is that it is a decision that only you can make. Think hard and long, and rememeber you know what is best for you. Good luck in whatever decision you make.

i want to be a firefighter and they offer emt and paramedic training. so its like im getting paid to get trained to do what i want. it looks almost too good to pass up.

Anecdote.
While doing an escort for a convoy down Highway 1 through Northern Saudi Arabia, our tank hit a camel at approx 50 mph. The camel did a somersault over our tank, and landed on the ground. The tank right behind us had enough warning to stop before squishing the poor (huge) thing. Mr. Ima Camel Jockey came up and drew a long knife from his waistband, and put his beast out of it's misery. Our Arabic translater handed him a card written in Arabic saying that the US Gov (taxpayers) would pay for it. |

It is the most heroic job in my book... risking your life to save others....

I served for almost 9 years. I went in a 17 y/o punk, and came out a combat Veteran that thought about(and valued) my friends more than myself.

It was one of the best decisions I ever made thats what im thinking. i think i would really get my **** together for once and walk out with a good chunk of change and the paramedic training i need! plus i think it might be a little fun as well. i know. its nuts, but im serious. i have never been a big school guy and loved the physical aspects of my jobs. its just the time commitment that scares me but hey, im done second guessing. i think im gonna do this... but i will need a good pen pal... |
