Absolutely not!

I blew a tire the other day and had to have a tow truck take me to a tire place. Once the car was dropped in the lot, my son and I got out of the two truck and walked up to the service center. A customer in waiting in the store, went out of his way to come and open the door for me. I was highly impressed. And this was a younger gentleman, probably in his early 20s.

is it me or is it getting harder to find chivalry in a guy nowadays? or is it because women are asking for equal rights now that some men have decided to just stop holding doors open and being downright romantic nowadays? or maybe its my bad luck that i cant meet people like that... hmmm something to think about... do prince charmings still exist? or is chivalry really dead?
just thinking out loud
bigsmile Its basically deadbigsmile

You just aren't meeting the right guys. I have realised most of us guys are...but many of the guys aren't what women consider "hot". Stop lookin at the hottest guy and you will find that "chivalry" you are looking for.

I have come to notice that the "hot" men and women just simply believe you are lucky to be with them. Don't treat the non-"hot" guys like ****...and you will get what you look for. Be more open minded.

yea..like i dont have a problem with chivalry,i dont mind opening the door for my lady hell ive been known to open the door for just about anyone cept' dudes.. even them big women at the laundry mat
you know the type wearing sweat pants, hair in curlers ..and a shirt

thats too small with a stain on it carrying a months worth of laundry but i kinda like it when my lady opens the door for me,sorta makes me feel like a pimp, like i'm something hot got it all goin'

on ,of course i'm old and i dont but hey its my delusion ..laugh ..but now if'n she's expecting me to slay a dragon and bring it home for the feast ..she best just get her a$$ up and go to krogers..by herself, cause i'm playin video games believe that...laugh j/k

A race that most women don't enter in to until after a few bad relationships with "bad boys".

wrong, and I still say that "nice guys finish last" crap is complete and total bs and an excuse/scapegoat and nothing more. If you go around saying that and keeping that mindset and believing in it, then you will "finish last", but it will have nothing to do with being a "nice guy".

I wouldn't say it's dead. Not for me at least. Well...maybe it's not chivalry for me, but more of respect. I always hold doors open for women and the elderly. It just seems proper too me.

It's not really tradition anymore. I'd say my last girlfriend probably left me because I was too good to her and she lost interest. Society is really advocating selfish, greedy, and inconsiderate behavior.

Don't forget instant gratification as well, does anyone ever "save up" for anything anymore?

ive been gone a while but anyway im back hehe so its basically because of the preferences of women, men have neglected to open doors? i wont say you're wrong but its a consensus here and its coming from the mouths of men so who am i to argue? i'm just freaking surprised i mean, if i had known this was what we were doing i would have stopped wondering what was wrong... meanwhile i dont think i'll ever give up on looking for a prince charming. i am independent yes and i like to stand my own as a woman but i still need a man who is a man, and to me, that means he has to be the stronger sex- i mean thats a boost to his ego also isnt it? to me its win- win : women get cared for and men's egos stay boosted... call me crazy

but it is true. chivalry is confused with being creepy. girls dont want to be treated nicely anymore... just go with it.

Haha, this seems like one of the big topics nowadays.

Women really do seem to go for guys that don't care for them. I used to be super nice and polite, only to get walked on. Tried being a complete **** to a girl or two, and they loved it. I can't get my head around it, and it's a bit frustrating.

There are some girls that like nice guys, but it seems most women do enjoy being treated like garbage.
