“Behind the Veil”
Growing up we looked forward to the future ahead. We planned all the little details in our head. Down to how many kids and where we want to live. The house we dream of right down to the car we drive. We played with our friends in a world of pretend. Never did we realize how much we didn’t comprehend. Seemed like so much fun we where so sure what life was about. So why in the world would we have any doubt? I mean we have our life planned down to a tee. At least back then we all thought we could see. As time went on we made it through our teenage years. Still it seems as if our life is great still no fears. Only thing now we have added to our dreams. Where we will go to college and our career it seems. Now you know we have plans for all that money. And the one we will marry and always call honey. Our heads are not in the clouds for you will see. We will sail through High School and get our college degree. Within our minds we’ve made that list and it is there to get. You will see nothing will make us quit. You know growing up was not as easy as we thought. Even school at times left us distraught. Wondering what happen to our beautiful dream. As we feel deep within this need to scream. When we were young it seems we had the world by the tail. Our parents told us to come out from behind the veil. It never made sense to us back then for we could only see. The world we had created and never realized how it would be. K.L.M 3/14/2009 |
