WTF!? I just got a phone call from my sis who said that she got a call from her sons girlfriend, whos mom works at the police station. The info is that rival gangs or a gang is going to be at walmart today and shoot up the place. There are two mentioned specifically. One here in Moore and one in OKC close by.

My niece also was told by her uncle who is a police officer to stay away from Walmart.

So, I called the police dept. and asked them. The lady swallowed and seemed a bit nervous and told me that it was sorta like one of those urban legend stories. She said there was no specific Walmart named, but I was told two specifics by police employees. That it is a text message going around. That if I was worried...to stay away from Walmart.

She didn't sound at all "not worried".

I wonder if they have told Walmart employees? My sis works right next door to one of those stores named and I work one half a mile from the other one.

My sister and her boyfriend got drunk and started arguing and grabbed guns and got in shoot out with each other right in their own house.

i think some things are rumors....so are true. the police don't want to panick people if there is nothing to panick about....otherwise the people would be scared to leave their houses all the time. i think if you keep it in mind and if you are worried....then stay away from walmart. better safe than sorry

but it may be a false scare like some bomb threats are....but you never know when the real scare comes unless you just keep an eye out

Her demeanor was little off. Her voice..the swallow before she answered, it was a little worrisome. I hope this is just one of those things that isn't true. But, these days..one never knows. People are crazy.

The drudge report has a story saying the messages are claiming attacks in southern deleware and the maryland eastern shore.

Its a hoax.

At Walmart?? The drudge report?

Only thing that gives me thought are the calls FROM POLICE OFFICERS calling their families telling them to stay away.

If this is a hoax; they need to track down the origin of the texts.

wow that's weird..I got that txt yesterday from a friend in Albuquerque saying APD had put out a press release saying such thing was going to happen...me thinks someone is trying to f* walmart :)

*sighs* we all received the same text, except that it was supposed to happen at our walmart. a gang initiation...three females to be shot this evening...stay away...yada yada.

i laughed and went to our undercover officer and asked who all was dying today. he said that it was everyone, but not to worry cause it's only the customers and not the employees.

he basically said it was a viral text. um, we don't have gangs here. i will say that i noticed several police in our store today...but then again, there's always a bunch. management made no announcements, and nobody seemed concerned other than a few easily-distressed and highly-stressed folks.
