Was USA more democratic 10 years ago? 50 yrs ago? 200 years ago? Or was it less?

Also compare other nations too. Is EU more dictatorial having a consolidated power telling all the nation members what and how?

There isn't much difference between a democracy and a dictatorship. It is only about the number of tyrants, running it.

For the record, we're not supposed to be a "Democracy" anyways, we're a Democratic Republic.

As for Democracy, no less than Thomas Jefferson said of Democracy this:

“A democracy is nothing more than mob rule, where fifty-one percent of the people may take away the rights of the other forty-nine.”

May I add that "A democracy is nothing more than a senile asylum, where two idle ones can legally decide on how to spend the sweat of the one working."

I wonder where this idea that we're a "democracy" came from?

Seems to be everywhere, these days. I think that authorities are knowingly and intentionally mixing the two terms together. A mob can always be controlled. Free people can not be controlled.

It seems obvious to me why would a government, therefore, always try to mention "democracy", in place of "democratic".
