Topic: Are we getting more democratic or more dictatorial? | |

What do you think?
Was USA more democratic 10 years ago? 50 yrs ago? 200 years ago? Or was it less? Also compare other nations too. Is EU more dictatorial having a consolidated power telling all the nation members what and how? |

When big government and big business holds hands with one another, pushing each others agendas, you have fascism.
In fact, thats pretty close to the definition of fascism given by no less an authority than Mussolini. He said Fascism should in fact be called Corporatism. I have a second question, why has the worry about electronic vote fraud almost completely died off, now that Obama is in office? There isn't much difference between a democracy and a dictatorship. It is only about the number of tyrants, running it.

For the record, we're not supposed to be a "Democracy" anyways, we're a Democratic Republic.
As for Democracy, no less than Thomas Jefferson said of Democracy this: “A democracy is nothing more than mob rule, where fifty-one percent of the people may take away the rights of the other forty-nine.” |

May I add that "A democracy is nothing more than a senile asylum, where two idle ones can legally decide on how to spend the sweat of the one working."

Seems to be everywhere, these days. I think that authorities are knowingly and intentionally mixing the two terms together. A mob can always be controlled. Free people can not be controlled.
It seems obvious to me why would a government, therefore, always try to mention "democracy", in place of "democratic". Step one: poison the mind.... |
