ff children straving, people becoming homeless, etc... Like Obama said, don't worry, hunker down and in a few years everything will be just fine. I know nature is cruel. Only the strong will survive. Look forward to more homeless and starving people. ______________________________________________________________________ Like people said BEFORE the election, "It's going to get worse before it gets better." It's already showing signs of getting better in my area. Home sales are picking up. It's spring time. Edit: That quote didn't work right. |

I don't expect things to get better in Michigan for a while regards of bail-outs. |

Here lately I've been seeing first hand how people are affected by this. Alot of manufacturing jobs are being cut because they have no orders from the car manufacturers to produce. It goes beyond just the car companies, and affects steel, glass, and parts companies as well.
There has to be a better way to save jobs than just pour money in. At this rate NOBODY will have a job because everything is happening so slowly. ![]() |

how many times do the taxpayers need to bail out big companies?

Alright, here is a view from a standpoint of the one and only economic theory, the Austrian school:
"If a business needs to be bailed out, then either there is no reason for this business to exist in the first place, or if we find that there is a need, then it is not fulfilling that need. In any case, the situation that the business needs a bailout is a testimony to that business negative efficiency, or in other words, it causes more harm than good." |

how many times do the taxpayers need to bail out big companies? PRECISELY! You take food from one person's children to give it to another? That thinking does not make sense. The grand failure of the system is the profiteers that make money off of human suffering. All the bail outs are doing is lining the pockets of of the people responsible for this whole mess. Remember this phrase people, "The House Always Wins." Investment is a legal GAMBLE and there are more losers than winners but the house always gets its cut. The Federal Treasury is not run by the Federal Government. It is run by Private Bankers! they are INSIDE the system where no matter what they come out of all of the mess were in not smelling like "sh*t" even thought they are the ones making it happen. There is nothing wrong with capitalism and free enterprise. There is when it is the interests of capitalism and free enterprise infiltrating the government and bending rules to insure their profits and cover for criminal activities. Can not anybody see what affects privatization has had to the detriment of our rights? Look at the past history of the IRS. Since the Federal treasury is in the hands of Bankers and the IRS is a corporation operating under the auspices of Dept of Treasury is it no wonder our taxation is so blown out of proportion? This is clearly misrepresentation on the behalf of our government. We let weasels run the hen house. It won't be long before all of the chickens will be gone. Bailing out big business? If we don't do it for small business why should we do it for big business? The unions should feel the sting for contributing to this mess with their own greed! |

sorry....didn't finish my thought (I'm sick with the flu so not thinking much)
ok...let's take GM and AIG...how many times do the tax payers need to give them money when they don't use the money wisely to begin with (company cars, bonuses, extra perks for the big wigs...etc) at what point should the companies say "hey....we need to tighten our belts for the company" |

And if GM does tank, what will happen to all the people who own GM cars? There won't be anyway to get new parts for it

Ok here is my two cents! I feel and have posted before that the auto industry and the auto unions have dug themselves into a great big whole. However, consider that if the auto industry collapses, the whole state of Michigan's economy collapses. This is not an over exaggration. State of Michigan is hovering around 12% unemployment. In the city of Detroit unemployment is around 23%. (Those percentages are only those that are collecting unemployment benefits!) So I would suggests a little sympathy for Michigan residents, unless you want us flooding into your states looking for work! Really... Tuff stuff. No one stepped in to bail out Colorado when the oil went south... Roughly the same thing... One either changes with the times or one gets buried by it. |
