Hey everyone,
I don't post on the forums as much as I should, but I felt like asking a question...See, I got stood up on friday for a coffee date with someone from this site, and I am wondering, how often has this happened to other people? And do I blame myself, or is that just the way the cookie crumbles?

It's happened to me in one way or another a couple of times. It's just a sign that the person you've made the mistake of finding is a flake and isn't worth your time. Just get yourself back up, dust yourself off, and go on to bigger, greener pastures.

Yep, haven't to me too. We had plans that night, talked to him all day, then just poofed. He logged on here afterwards too, so he didn't die. It happens, they aren't worth your time.

I have however been seeing someone that just disappeared. Quit speaking to me and walked away without a word. Now that pisses me off. Friggin cowards. rant

I think sometimes people chicken out.. It's not very nice but I think some just can't go through with the "what if they don't like me"... I've been nervous enough that I wanted to cancel a few times..

I had a date on Sunday, he wasn't there and he was supposed to be there before me.. I waited about 20 min, had tried to call his cell a couple of times... I left and went home.. Last night I got an im from his roommate that he was in a motorcycle accident on his way to meet me and pretty tore up and in the hospital.. I was so glad I didn't send a nasty "thanks for nothing" email.. I went to see him tonight at the hospital... Our first meeting.. Quite different I must say.. .

Not your fault, more likely than not he was lying about something, be it looks, marital status, could have been any number of things. You showed, he didn't so why would you blame yourself?

Thanks guys and gals! What I wonder is, why waste the time? And unfortunately I am analytical so a hundred reasons pop into my head. Sorry about others who have been stood up or ignored, and the disappearance, that is hard and then you see them online, I almost feel like I was punked or something. LOL

Now thats somthing i don't understand. Well before i go on. Anything could of happen, no one really knows. Now to what i was going to say. I seen so many people looking for dats and some complain they don't get dates. Knowing that. How can some just blow others off as they do at times knowing it's hard alot of the time to just find somone to go out with.

Hey nvkikigirl

I wouldn't stress it. It is good that they stood you up now, that way you know they are someone you don't want to be with anyway. If the stood you up now then I am sure there is a lot of bs in their character. Stand strong and tall, you deserve it.

Why on earth would you blame yourself? spock

Some people enjoy playing games. They feel empowered by doing exactly this -- making YOU feel badly and as thought YOU did something wrong.

Don't empower him by dwelling. slaphead

*poof* He's gone!

Sort of happened to me...we went out, i took her home, SHE kissed ME, then senrt me an e-mail 30 minutes later telling me I wasn't a good match for her....

(And NO it wasn't the kissing, because she admitted it was nice afterwards)

You'll be good....look at it this way: You'll meet someone 100 times better than this guy in the future...
