Not intimidated at all, but pretty annoyed at how SOME of them make such a huge deal about it. Honestly, I liked it better when people didn't have such a huge chip on their shoulder, there's no shame in just being a woman, there's no reason to make sure the whole world knows how "independent" a person is, we all get it, and we're all sooooooooo impressed.

I surely dont think we should be condemned for it. Im a single mom. Left my sons father when he was 2 as he wouldnt stop the drinking and drugging life style. He never did the child support thing. No i dont want sympathy! I did it.. i did it myself.. ive put myself through college, ive bought a place to call home, I drive a decent vehicle. My son never went without, but yes we did struggle. I am rather proud of myself for that. I could have sat back, went on state aid... and did nothing my entire life... so ya... im kinda proud of me...who I am... and what I represent... thank you very much |

You know the saying what attracts ... can later repel ... ??? Summary in a nutshell ...
PEOPLE (not necessarily men) can be quite drawn to fierce strength, until the realization sets in that "this one won't reigned in and controlled" ... Duplicitous dichotomy ...

A Strong and Independent Woman? If she's strong enough to pick my ass up and toss me over a fence, Hell YES, she'll intimidate me. Independent? Pffft! If she can handle it herself, have at it. If she obviously doesn't need ME, then I obviously don't need HER. Makes no difference to me. Be independent all you like, just do it from over there. |

A Strong and Independent Woman? Not at all. Find that they are able to carry on intelligent conversations. Not to mention have self confidence. |

There are different needs. I don't need someone to kill bugs, fix the plumbing or take out the trash - I can handle all that myself. I need someone to be my best friend, be there when I feel weak, love me even when I wake up with horrible bed hair, and call me out when I'm being a b*tch, lol.

I think some men are, however, those aren't the ones I want to be with. I want my equal. I don't need anyone to completely me. I just want someone to share my life with and that would have to also be someone strong and independent, dedicated, and honest.

IN my experience, I find that most of the men I attract or am attracted to like my independence, they also like it that I have a balance. I can be very dependent on some things and fiercely independent on others. I think I recently told someone.
I don't need you I want you to want and need me. |

In my experience the answer is yes. Throw sexual into the mix and I can't keep em around.
