For many years you have watched Republicans and Democrats fighting for elections, power, rights, and issues that concern this country and the world.

You see how both criticize each others policies, idealogies, and strategies in moving forward as a nation.

If you believe that neither parties have done much for the people of this nation would you vote for a third party?

Explain why you would or wouldn't?

Yup, in fact, i would love to see a third party make it into office. It seems about 90% of republicans and 90% of democrats are bought and paid for.

I suppose it would have to come down to the candidates ideals though. I tend to believe in not supporting a welfare, warfare, or nanny state. I believe in responsible fiscal policies. I believe in becoming self sufficient again. So i would only vote third party if the member supported this...

Dare I say it again?

YOU are the seed of a third party.

Want it?

Make it happen.

I know this is rare, but i totally agree. drinker drinker drinker It must all start on a local level though.

My uncle was into politics before he got cancer. He held positions on town counsels and stuff of that sort. He's got a few connections but he does know the way in. His cancer is now cured, he is taking myself and his son-in-law under his wing this summer. It's not much but it's a start. drinker

Most people won't. Because that requires thinking. People hate that.

Do you guys have any idea how many parties there are out there? Well I know you must. So what makes you think a 3rd or 4th or 5th etc will be any less corrupt or influenced?

There is never going to be a party that speaks for everyone, ever. Hell we don't even like eachother as human beings. I am amazed how many parties there actually are and how different they think.

Is there any party that actually sees all people as deserving of freedom, I wonder?

not a party, but there are a very few select individuals from at least 3 different parties that believe just that.

The political power necessary to implement a change from partisanship involves friendships and finances...which necessarily involves partisanship in the current system and it's construct...

It is a purposefully self-imposed paradox.

It is nearly impossible to defeat the entire construct of our "democracy", which is required to attain the goal of successfully running as an independent. However, I believe that the self-perpetuation needs to halt, for the sake of this country and the rest of the world.

I would like to see the playing field leveled, but it would require something that those who pass the laws would never concede to. It would require equal government funding and public exposure during the campaign trail.

As it is, those who have the friends also have the finances of those friends, and those friends and their agendas are the ones who are taken of after the election.

Say it ain't so. ohwell

I already vote third party. I do so, because the third party candidates, by and large, aren't purchased.

I would have liked to have seen Ross Perot make it back in the 90's. Try buying off a billionaire..lol

I think he was the third party's biggest chance to be honest.

There are plenty of parties out there, but if you want to start a new one, go for it, this is America..I encourage everyone to get involved in a party or non-party of their choice!
