I wish I didn’t miss you so much
I can’t believe I let you go even though
I knew it was for our good but this hurts
Our last goodbye was way too soon
Or was it right on time
To keep my peace of mind

I guess I thought we would see
The end of tomorrows together
But now it is yesterdays that has us joined
In forever memories that play like
Movies in my mind past and present
Seeming to blend endlessly, seamlessly

Tears I didn’t know I shed until I awake
Because the pillow is damp and echoes
Of your name on my lips as if I was calling
Out your name in dreams that I can’t
Seem to recall but haunt me throughout
The day like wisp of a half written melody

Reaching out for you in the middle of the night
Only to find you gone chills me to my soul
And loneliness becomes my companion for the night
What a poor substitute for my beloved now gone
And now the day starts again and you are still not here
Although I know it was best for you and me,
I miss you
