Yep sitting down and talking with these countries really work well. Who's next Iran? Oh no that will never happen cause we will sit and talk with them and our president will apologize to him for our country being mean. That will make things all better.

Iran, North Korea, Iraq, the Taliban in Pakistan could all have nuclear weapons before Obama's term expires. Saddam Hussein never will. |

Irony: Obama agreed to sit down with Iran with no preconditions. he laid out his cards. Iran, on the other hand, heard this and set some preconditions of their own. Right now, our nation is standing there with he pants around her ankles in shock. We now have no moves and it's Iran's turn. N. Korea, on the other hand, was a snafu from the Clinton administration a la Carter that Bush never really stepped up to handle either. Carter was the worst bargainer to stop their nuclear arms program and gave them immense amounts of goods and technology all for nothing. Bush had his administration too engulfed with Iraq and Afghanistan to really keep too much an eye on korea. Obama has his hands full there because their biggest ally is China, our largest creditor. Appologizing for everything that other nations find offensive shows weakness to these leaders IMO. These are dictators that rely on fear and control and if we go in appologizing for everything, we simply look like a bunch of pussies. In the end, that helps just as much as anger toward us. We need to walk a fine line and Obama is the polar opposite as Bush. There needs to be a middle ground where we can find a safe way to retain respect but also show we still have cajones. |
