I have recently realized ( for the second time) that my current friends are nowhere near who i considered my closest friend
Do you expect a lot form your true friends?

Sometimes you have to just write people off, I do.

we are all out for ourselves in the end. friends are not trusting. you think you can then down the road you notice that they were just zombies trying to eat your brain all along.

Loyalty.<-------that's a period

I practice a fierce brand of loyalty that is sometimes hard to live up to by others...THAT'S when I know who my friends are...

I have a friend here..who I love very much...

he has stood by me for many months....actually for a few years...

calls every day..when I don't answer my cell..he knows i just can't talk...

so he sings to me .....

He is great.....he is always with me..and he lives miles and miles away...

Terri is his name.....happy  smooched flowers

Somone who is understanding, who admiddedly isnt perfect, someone who talks about theyre life lessons, and shares what theyve learned.. someone who uplifts you, grows with you.. someone who you can confide in that will never hold what you tell them against you, or use it against you.

I recently realized how valuable friends really are...

They don't put you on a pedestal and not only let you be exactly where you are...they love you exactly where you are.

Gotta cherish those people!

I have a lot of friends and several really good friends. One, I trust with anything. This surprised him at first because no one trusted him as completely. I found him a wife. Now he understands.

a so-so friend will come with you to the police station.

a good friend will help you hide the body and pretend nothing happened.

I expect my friends to be open and honest with me. We compliment each others' lives and in so doing, there needs to be an open line of communication. Granted, I only have a few close friends, but with each I know where I stand. Friends serve a purpose for one another...we give what the other needs from us; hence my diverse selection of people I have within my circle.
The "tell it like it is" friend. The "sweet and loving and emotionally attached to everyone and everything" friend. The "lost without me gal that gets by, by the skin of her teeth and universal luck" friend...we all feed each other's need for companionship. If your current friends are not giving as equally as you, then either let them know and talk about it (but you are a guy and guys usually don't have the kind of emotionally connected talks that I'm describing here). Don't cut them off completely (unless they need to be), because either you or they can learn from each other in some way...just use your better judgment and speak your mind with them (respectively, mind you) flowerforyou

A friend to me is simply someone who is there for you when you need them, and vice versa.
