"If we start making political decisions with the auto industry, we're going to be in tremendous trouble," said Michael Robinet, vice president of global vehicle forecasts at CSM Worldwide.

A little too late for this... huh

The average American is already in huge trouble, and this re-affirms the very root of the problem.

Idiots!

Why?

The bailout money is a scam. Workers approve this, because in their endless victim mentality they hope that this loss of freedom (less capitalism, more socialism) will give them little temporary safety (to keep their miserable pay).

As Ben Franklin said, then they deserve neither.

They are going to lose their jobs, while already haven given the freedom up as a payment to keep the jobs.

They deserve neither jobs, nor freedoms.

Every scam, especially anything to do with socialism, always has the same meaning: "Surrender freedom, in exchange for a little bread". Of course, once you surrender freedom, you will receive nothing, since by doing so, you have just destroyed your own free market value, now there is no one that needs to buy you.

I am trying my best, Rose, to explain. I hope this helped.

I guess so hun. I doubt though that the big wigs of GM really care what the little people have to say though so I don't know what if any they had to say about the bailout. all I know is several people I know have been laid off from a company they have spent most of their lives at

I know that you know some people. But the fact that they were clung to GM tit for most of their life, doesn't make them any more valuable on the free market.

GM didn't benefit from those "career workers". But the workers benefited enormously. They have chosen the convenience over readiness to go anywhere and their own market-worth. In a way, they have become coach-potatoes of a business world. Who is going to find them attractive?

Good people never stay too long. They either get what they want now, or they move-on. They demand pay equal to their hard to find qualities and abilities. They accumulate their pay and save for a rainy day. I never heard them referring to this situation as "I gave this company so many years". No. They refer to it as "I had a good paycheck from these guys for so many years".

By saying good and bad, I mean their qualifications as workers. A person can be very good human being (usually only an appearance, though, I find), but a bad, low worth worker.

I see so-so workers, always bringing up how many years they have gave to the company. In reality, those the years they couldn't find or couldn't make themselves to look for a job. So, they kept showing up. Those are the ones always wanting the seniority rules.

Did their salary multiplied two fold every couple of years? Nope! So, then it is a lie that they liked it there. In an environment of constant inflation, you can't afford to be paid the same. By staying at the same level, they are creating a social disaster for themselves and everyone else. Finally, the disaster has arrived.

They got laid off, and now, they have no means. So, again, I have to go fend for myself and for them.

By selling out the freedom, (bailouts), they hoped to keep their comfortable existence, even if by a price of my freedom. They cared not. I have been telling them "do not do it". Don't give up your right, your freedom. I was available at all times, to anyone who would listen.

But, they did not care. Sweet lies, is what they sucked up from both, Bush and Obama. Sweet lies about selling the freedom for a killing.

O.K. The freedom is gone now. Let them eat sweet lies.

Six thousand people lost their jobs in St. Louis. I knew a few of them. A couple of them had both the wife and husband lose their jobs there and they have children. They worked their butts off at GM.

It's not Obama's fault. They were having problems before he became President.

BHO sure as HeII ain't makin' all those jobs he promised. So far, nothing but business closures, layoffs and firings.
He has a lot of catching up to do to get all those folks jobs.

I know, St Louis is some sort of heaven where noone except GM workers are affetcted by BHO.

You did? You gave them money for failing to be the best? Then you're part of their problem. You have enabled them to become complicit and to forget about customer. They money (your's) were flowing to them whether they were doing the right thing or not!

I'm saying he has made empty promises. All I've seen since he's been in is this country going farther downhill.

Where are all these jobs he promised??

Im telling you!

Protective Tariffs!

Hey willing!

Bush gave the largest bailout to the Auto Industry!

This should piss off all, not be a reason to point a finger in one direction by either side.

Besides, if the restructuring plan saves GM then every GM job left in the US is a job saved!

The article says in 2014 only 74% of all GM domestic sales will be built in Canada and the US!
What a total failure???

Are you cheering as America bleeds?
