I, at first, thought Wanda was a bit extreme with her comedy acts. But now, I think she's too funny. I like her.

President Obama smiled at the time, but the White House declared Monday there was nothing funny about comic Wanda Sykes joking about 9/11.

Sykes skewered Rush Limbaugh at the White House Correspondents' Dinner Saturday - likening the conservative talk show king to Osama bin Laden.

"I think there are a lot of topics that are better left for serious reflection rather than comedy," White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said Monday. "I think there's no doubt that 9/11 is part of that."

Sykes began her riff by branding as "treason" Limbaugh's oft-repeated hope that Obama "fails."

"He's not saying anything differently than what Osama bin Laden is saying," she said. "I think maybe Rush Limbaugh was the 20th hijacker. But he was just so strung out on OxyContin he missed his flight."

That brought groans and guffaws from the crowd while Obama smiled nervously and took a sip from his glass.

Limbaugh ignored Sykes Monday on his radio show, and she also kept mum.

But earlier, Sykes took offense that she was warned "not to say the F-word or the N-word" before her bit. "They really think I was going to say that to the President?," she told "Extra."

I think she is hilarious, whether she should have avoided the 9/11 topic, was a choice she made, she was funny - everyone laughed. Get a grip, she's a comic not a politician.

Rush finally mentioned this on his show yesterday...when a caller told him that Obama was laughing...Rush said " that couldn't be true...I'm sure he didn't hear her ...I mean afterall...he spent 20 years in the Rev Wrights church...and...didn't hear him "...

She is very funny.

Much as I dislike Rush I do think her humor went a little far and fell flat when she said she wished his kidneys would fail.

Many people in that room both republicans and democrats were laughing.

Want to see some interesting humor? Check out what was said during eight years of Bush during the correspondence dinners.

the reason it was funny then...is because W was the butt of all the jokes...his sense of humor was tremendous...his ability to laugh at himself...is what was funny...what is happening now in this great nation...is NOT funny... ...

I don't personally find her brand of comedy funny, never really have. But she is entitled to joke about whatever she may like too...regardless of it being tactless and hardly funny. Her freedom of speech, we don't have to share her views...though I've never found her to be funny in the past, and didn't see this bit of comedy on her part...but would chalk it up to as useless as past attempts at comedy on her part...
