Men or women, have you ever dated a hippie? Years ago I dated a hippie
for about six months until I couldn't stand it anymore. Drove me
absolutely friggin nuts! She would claim to be at peace with herself and
"one with her world" (wherever the heck that was) and called her boss a
lesbian n-word when she was fired for being irresponsible at work.
Hmmmm.... She always expected people to accept her as she was and could
go into a ten minute talk fest trying to explain her view on a given
subject (the subject was usually concerning acceptance, ie: her)which
would leave the listener wondering just how many hits of acid over the
may cause brain damage range did she go?huh What has been your
experience dating a hippie? Peace

my experience of having a hippie (hippy?) sister in law is she didn't
want to wear antiperspirant, because that was unatural, but the stench
of her BO was natural.

possible exception of creed. laugh I am referring to a lifestyle of

my aunt and uncle...well, they were rainbow people.

my uncle died in september, and his memorial service was at a biker bar.
his wife and son didn't come to the catholic funeral that we had for
him...

then his wife and son went right back into the woods to live...

I dated a conservative banker once, and he did things that were so
boring and irritating, and couldn't balance his chequebook.

So now I condemn all bankers, as well, you know, one bad banker ruins it
for all of them..see, I couldn't stand his hypocrisy, managing others
money, and not be able to manage his own finances...so therefore in my
narrow-minded judgemental way...I shall condemn all bankers..

Did I mention I am being sarcastic?

Did I forget to mention he was human?

Oh goodness me!!

Let's see, maybe I could condemn all Americans over one not so great
experience, all British over one bad experience...or even..hmmm,
Australians aren't so great either, I have bad experiences with them
too...

Grrrr!!! Labels...grumble

jess, normally i'd so agree with you...

hip·pie also hip·py (hĭp'ē) pronunciation
n., pl. -pies.

A person who opposes and rejects many of the conventional standards and
customs of society, especially one who advocates extreme liberalism in
sociopolitical attitudes and lifestyles.

as a conservative, i don't think i could handle dating someone who is
extremely liberal. throw in drug use, and i'm running for the hills.

Lori...what is it with some people?

We can disagree and still find the truth in each other's words..

You and I, and a whole heap of other people here, have got way better
things to do than indulge silly fantasies of fools...

I respect you..always have, always will...and if anythng we are only
ever one or two degrees different in our veiws..

It is in the differences that we learn...some day fools might get
it..*sigh*

For you Lori.. flowerforyou

She did not use drugs. That was a tongue in cheek comment. We got along
great at first and did a lot of fun things together. We simply had views
of the world that were at opposit ends of the spectrum, both social and
political. My question was not intended to go into the political realm
but simple curiosity. We have long since parted ways. Too bad. I did
love her as a person. We just weren't compatible

Oops, didn't mean to step on your left toe Jess.noway From now on I'll
try to remember to float my ideas by you for a post to be sure it passes
the litmus test. I certainly don't want to be one who has a differing
view.
