A woman's sex drive begins to plummet once she is in a secure
relationship, according to research.

Researchers from Germany found that four years into a relationship, less
than half of 30-year-old women wanted regular sex.

Conversely, the team found a man's libido remained the same regardless
of how long he had been in a relationship.

Writing in the journal Human Nature, the scientists said the differences
resulted from how humans had evolved.

The researchers from Hamburg-Eppendorf University Hospital interviewed
530 men and women about their relationships.

They found 60% of 30-year-old women wanted sex "often" at the beginning
of a relationship, but within four years of the relationship this figure
fell to under 50%, and after 20 years it dropped to about 20%.

In contrast, they found the proportion of men wanting regular sex
remained at between 60-80%, regardless of how long they had been in a
relationship.

The study also revealed tenderness was important for women in a
relationship.

About 90% of women wanted tenderness, regardless of how long they had
been in a relationship, but only 25% of men who had been in a
relationship for 10 years said they were still seeking tenderness from
their partner.

Sir
I would be curious to hear more about from the women - were they
satisfied with the intimacy and relationship?

Dr Dietrich Klusmann, lead author of the study and a psychologist from
Hamburg-Eppendorf University Hospital, believed the differences were
down to human evolution.

He said: "For men, a good reason their sexual motivation to remain
constant would be to guard against being cuckolded by another male."

But women, he said, have evolved to have a high sex drive when they are
initially in a relationship in order to form a "pair bond" with their
partner.

But, once this bond is sealed a woman's sexual appetite declines, he
added.

He said animal behaviour studies suggest this could be because females
may be diverting their sexual interest towards other men, in order to
secure the best combinations of genetic material for their offspring.

Or, he said, this could be because limiting sex may boost their
partner's interest in it.

Professor George Fieldman, an evolutionary psychologist from
Buckinghamshire Chilterns University College, said: "These findings seem
to fit in with anecdotal studies and his explanations seem plausible.

"The rational for why a woman's sex drive declines may be down to supply
and demand. If something is in infinite supply, the perceived value
would drop."

So, once the mind-blowing, hair-curling, stocking-wrinkling,
coffee-spitting sex is freely available ... you women get bored and want
to play with something more xciting - like keeping the cave nice and
tidy!!!

i am 53 and my Libido is just fine...if i could have my own way i would
have sex for breakfast and for the last meal of the day/night heh
heh....

so could this be due to the fact that i refuse to be in a coupled

A woman's sex drive begins to plummet once she is in a secure
relationship, according to research
Researchers from Germany found that four years into a relationship, less
than half of 30-year-old women wanted regular sex.

Hummmm funny seems mine had increased when I was married. Sex was
very regular the whole 11 years at least 4-5 times a week.

About 90% of women wanted tenderness, regardless of how long they had
been in a relationship, but only 25% of men who had been in a
relationship for 10 years said they were still seeking tenderness from
their partner.

Hummm, well hell there is the problem right there it is the men they
want sex but no longer wants the tenderness that women require. Sorry
guys but did ya forget the old saying you get what ya give. What makes
men think they should receive sex if they want give the tenderness that
women seek. Hummmm it's not all about me me me seems ya have a partner.
Maybe if she was to get the tenderness they might be surprised what they
get in return.

So, once the mind-blowing, hair-curling, stocking-wrinkling,
coffee-spitting sex is freely available ... you women get bored and want
to play with something more xciting - like keeping the cave nice and
tidy!!!

Lets see the words here *women get bored and want to play with
something more exciting* does this not tell you guys that in order to
keep having that *mind-blowing, hair-curling, stocking-wrinkling,
coffee-spitting sex * that maybe it could be because the man got so
comfortable knowing your there that he has seemed to forgotton you still
need to be held afterwards instead he turns over and goes to sleep. Or
all of a sudden he thinks marriage means your his maid and thinks you
should wait on him hand and foot. But no longer does the things for you
that he did while ya'll dated. Hummm seems to me the things that men
quit doing that they once did do for the women they were with could very
well be the answer to the problem. So maybe if men don't forget to
treat women with tenderness and let them know how much they care. They
might be surprised at how it will increase a womans sex drive.

ok here's my 2 cents

I had to erase everything i wrote cause it made me sound bitter.. and I
am...

How do you stop a woman from having sex w/ you? marry her!?!?!?!
W.......T......F?!?!

you need to ask these married women WHY they really don't want sex with
that particular man.

you would be suprised that most of them will say the reason is HIM

yes HIM!

Men, excuse me married men..... you better step back a take a look as to
when her sex drive plummeted durring the marriage...and the real reason
behind it.

90% or more of the time.... you stop treating her like the princess you
did in the begining and start treating her like your damn maid and
mommy...
GROW UP!

you want sex again... gawk at her like the other women you think we dont
know you are looking at.... tell her all the sweet-nothings like you did
in the begining to "catch" her....

Men when you "catch" that one..most of you totally yank that peddistool
out from under her and you let her fall strait on her ass and you just
look at her like WTF get up!

Ok I have to stop...

when I see BS like this studied research on why women stop having sex
after marriage.....

think about it.... a kiss in the begining was a kiss .. not a FARt and
you saying here's a kiss for you..

and men belching is NOT sexy

and when we are sleeping farting under the covers and letting it escape
then rolling over and saying .. ummm hey honey im horney.....ohhh let me
tell you what a turn on that is... lets just **** our brains out

or..try to have an orgasam when you have kids AWAKE... yeah!

I Strongly disagree.

I think its more the mens problem than the womens.

Men get into a relationship, and forget about everything but sex.
That is the underlying problem.

Romance is an essential ingredient, for a good sexual relationship.

Most times, once a man "gets" a woman, romance drops off over time.

Therefore, so does sex.

Truth

“But, once this bond is sealed a woman's sexual appetite declines, he
added.”

WRONG!!!
Once the man has his woman secured he also has the responsibility to
keep the sex going. Men forget that woman need creativity, passion and
will give themselves to the man they love anytime, but man, only will
give themselves when the animal instinct attacks.

So if sex drives goes down in a woman after marriage, is it the woman’s
fault only?
Well, in my experience NO.
It takes 2 to tango. Lets stop pointing fingers at women and see what is
it that WE need to do TOGETHER to solve the issues, in order to attain a
holistic successful relationship.

Research of what? Like HELL it does!!! Why doesn't anyone ever bother to
consult ME about such things? LOL.

***

Conversely, the team found a man's libido remained the same regardless
of how long he had been in a relationship.

I've found the opposite to be true with men I've been involved with. I
wanted more sex; they wanted less.

The study also revealed tenderness was important for women in a
relationship.

Tenderness as opposed to roughness? Yeah, I'd say that is important.
