Is there any point, really, to online dating? Finding it difficult to believe it ever actually works.

 Well, there's the obvious point.... to find a date online. This just HAS to be one of those trick questions I hear tell about.

it only has a point if you make it a point to...believe. it can, and does work, so yep, there's a point!

I've been on other sites too and met some pretty cool men, but just as friends because they can't stay off the sites,,, so it's all in fun

seems like i dont have much luck with online dating. But all you can do is just hang in there and keep on trucking.

I dont think there is a good point to it no..... I use recent pics, let them know that I lean towards the "round" side and am as honest as I can be. They email me, they chat with me on IM and sometimes on camera (clean pics only) and yet when they meet me they think that I would've been thinner, prettier, WHATEVER. I'm really thinking its just easier to be single.

You need to have alot of patience. You are much better off getting involved in the forum's. They are pretty fun. Beside's, friend's stick around alot longer than bf's/gf's.

Is there any point, really, to online dating? Finding it difficult to believe it ever actually works. I have friends on this very site who have met "the one" on this very site. So it does happen. Now, to be perfectly honest about it, I think it's a fairly rare thing. But it does happen. It won't happen for me, because the kind of person I'm looking for doesn't use dating sites, at least not the more mainstream sites. But as to whether there's a point -- ? Well, sure, I like the site and I like a lot of the people, and I have fun here. It's not like finding a girlfriend is my sole purpose in life (although it would be nice) -- so I guess my point in being here is just everything OTHER than trying to find someone. |
