I grew up watching slasher flicks. Jason, Michael, and Freddy were the coolest. Any other slasher fans out there?

I think there's enough violence in the real world. I do not go out of my way to watch gratuitous violence.

I cant actually say that I grew up watching slasher flicks, but I did start out with the original "Night of the Living Dead" and I have been a horror movie fan ever since. The first Halloween was good, but I dont think I have watched any of the sequels.

Watched the My Bloody Valentine remake the other day and was a little disappointed.
Sleep Away Camp was one of my all time favs. Nothing beats that ending.

I was very disapointed in the new Valentine. Though I did watch it with my parents ( they were visiting ) I had to laugh every time my Dad yelled at the characters. slaphead The one time he yelled " Dont empty the shells out of the gun you dunder head." Poor thing didnt get it. laugh

It can lots of fun when people do that as if the characters can hear them.

I wanted to see a bigger plot twist for the ending.

Well my daughter said it best, "Looks like a sequal is in the making." So I dont think they would want to end it anyother way.

I like slasher flicks, especially the originals like "Halloween", "Friday The 13th", and "A Nightmare On Elm Street". However, I'm not very bemused with all the remakes and stuff- I just think that the original movies were much better.

I WILL say that "American Psycho" (starring Christian Bale) is a particularly good quasi-slasher movie, though. It's not like a typical horror flick in the least.

Love that one. "Murders and executions."

I'm a big fan of slasher films. I enjoyed both the remakes of Friday the 13th and My Bloody Valentine- it's good to see excessive gore and gratuitous nudity back in the slasher.

Some of my favorites(besides Halloween and Friday the 13th):

Just Before Dawn
The Burning
Final Exam
House on Sorority Row
The Dorm That Dripped Blood
Hell Night
Bava's Bay of Blood
Black Christmas(original)
Slaughterhouse
Slumber Party Massacre
Mountaintop Motel Massacre
Hide and Go Shriek
Humongous
Prom Night(original)
Madman
The Mutilator
Sleepaway Camp
The Zero Boys
Bloody Birthday
Happy Birthday To Me

Great so bad they're good/cheesy slashers:
Pieces
Don't Go In The Woods
The Forest
Cheerleader Camp
The Last Slumber Party
Terror At Tenkiller
Blood Hook
Slaughter High
Memorial Day Massacre
Nightmare Beach

The Hills Have Eyes remake was great (watch the unrated version), the sequel sucked though. Event Horizon is at the top of my list. That movie scared the hell out of me and had plenty of gore to boot.

The sequel to the Hills remake was still no where near as bad as the sequel to the original(though I'll admit, that's the first time I've ever seen a dog have flashbacks)
