Fear of some deep hurt.
Men desire sex almost constantly. So many men have very little respect
for women. Seem to think it would make them weak, somehow. I agree
with women's lib., but think it hurt male/female relationships for guys
that can't handle the truth.
So sex is an act of conquest, to prove they are in someway better, helps
their ego.

Just my thoughts.

Well I desire sex quite alot too. But I'm not afraid of commitment. It
seems so many guys are not willing to make a commitment. You date them
for a while and then they tell you they want to be friends with
benefits, that's just not right! If they already knew thay didn't want
to get involved why don't they say that right up front? it would save me
& alot of other women a lot of time and prevent hurt feelings.

I don't really think it has anything to do with womens lib Sage. You're
right in saying, it is about the quest for sex only! Makes me feel like
I'm worth having a relationship with!

Sanna

So sorry for how you have been hurt. Totally agree men need to be
upfront, I don't think they understand themselves. Yet there are so
many here, I know distance makes it difficult.
Strange world we now live in. Ever want to scream at a guy, drop me a
mail.

Do you make those necklaces?

i saw in the news once...in a womens brain, a chemical reaction occurs
during and just after intercourse that makes the woman emotionally
attached to a man.

men have the ability to have sex and not feel attached. If there is a
problem in the relationship, there will be no connection.

I think a better question would be why do "people" think like that. To
be totally honest women think like that just as well as men now a days.

I say upfront, not looking for long term thing. Just not there.
In past 10 yrs have only seen one lady that really sparks my interest.
Distance, present finances, 13 yr age span, & her children make things
imposs. at this time. Will keep in touch, but really doubt. Guys just
need to find their real desires.

Thus again although this topic is correct...people do not respect
people.

Lori! Yes! It definitely happens both directions. I don't know about
this thing on the news - everybody has a chemical reaction that
encourages attachment, and anybody can emotional issues (or simply
preferences) which discourage commitment.

The "Lori! Yes!" was especially for your first post, "I think a better
question would be why do "people" think like that."

Yes lori, road rage, abuse, violence it all traces back to a total lack
of respect for our fellow man.
SO SAD.

I feel the same way. I know how you feel. I want more from a man then
sex.

well the day of the gentlemen is gone..respect is not taught at home
anymore and that is where it all begins....sage mentioned it earlier
"womens lib" women where made more equal so they turned from the home
to the job market leaving our children with out a teacher. don't get me
wrong....i agree with womens lib but it hurt our society as a whole.
gotta admit the old ways worked...todays way doesn't.

The lib. movement didn't hurt us, the way some men act because of it, is
where the problem is.
I didn't change, Gwen taught me, women can be equal or better & not hurt
a thing.

yes sage it did hurt us...why do you think men think the way they do?
because they weren't taught any different, our kids aren't being taught
respect at home, why? because both parents are working, they no longer
have time for their kids... when i was a kid i wouldn't dare disrespect
an elder...i paid dearly for it if i did. when i got home there was
somebody there, not today... both parents are working.. kids go out and
learn their lessons off the street. I don't know how many times i've
seen a small child flip someone off or give them a good cussing, why?
both parents were working. nobody home to teach them any different.
yes in the old days the men were the providers but women are what made
everything work they just didn't realize just how much of an impact they
made. I would gladly revert back to the old days.
