How did you introduce yourself into the forums?

I see so many threads, which say the same thing, 'hi i am new, just want to say hi', 'newbie here just checking this place out', blah blah blah blah..i find most intro threads very dull and boring.

Do you say hi to every newbie? Or are you more selective and just introduce the ones that are more unique? Or just the ones you see as a potential match?

I always wonder about the hit and run thread makers. 'HI, i am new and want to make friends.....but now im never going to post in the forums again! Or even the ones that do eventually respond just once or twice. Whats the point?

ummm..."very carefully, without hurting anyone" seems like a good way to me. :)

Generally i dont, but on occasions, i have welcomed ppl.

I think the best way to make an entrance, is slowly, and at a steady pace.

Well, i never quite chose the slow steady paced entrance myself, but that is a safer option sometimes and can save everybody from thinking you are an idiot from your very first day!

Ok then id start with a slow steady paced post and then i will build it up slowly until nearer the end of the thread where i will post fast and furiously!

I think I had a 'hi, i'm new here ' thread as my first. When just popping into the forums, not knowing what they really are or the audience that's reading them, it seemed like an ok idea and see why others do it. I do say HI to most of the newbies I see, so they'll feel welcome here.

I never did the new member post when I joined. ! I just gave my opinion.! Maybe thats why I still get ignored around here alot!

I took the apologetic approach, whereby i apologised for making yet another boring intro thread.

It did the job.

I made a newbie post.

And now I welcome the hot ones. Or the weird-looking ones. Or the ones who seem desperate.

I think my Welcome thread said something to the effect of "Hot, new redhead here"...but I was a noob with no pix so I was ignored...*sniff*

I don't give a rat's azz about anyone one rating my profile, so I skipped that unpleasant ordeal...

As far as posting in noob welcome threads...I usually just look around for ones that for whatever reason, weren't posted in much & bring 'em back to the top for a second shot at fame...
